I debated the issue of Single Motherhood by Choice on Fox's nationally-syndicated Morning Show with Mike and Juliet yesterday. Also on the show were two single mothers by choice, including Louise Sloan, author of the new book Knocking Yourself Up, a psychologist, and 18-year-old Katrina Clark, a child of a single mother by choice.
As you can imagine, I was badly outnumbered, and was the only one representing the fathers' side, which is always fun. They extended our topic over three segments, so it's lengthy as far as TV goes--to watch the video of the show, click here.

I agree totally.
Conservatives let the Left shut us up with the highly successful Archie Bunker strategy of making us out to be narrow minded, self righteous bigots when we stood up for traditional values and morality.
I watched the video and I have to agree with Glen Sacks that the women on the panel made their choice to have an un-fathered for completely selfish motives (The Selfish Gene?).
How can we condemn women who chose to have and raise children on their own and not at the same time condemn men who divorce their wives and leave their children to be raised by them alone or practically alone? A large percentage of our families today are women raising their children on their own anyway, these women are just cutting the failed marriage out of the mix. The problem goes much deeper than merely condemning Murphey Brown or the people on the TV panel. The problem began when we as a society decided that marriage and the responsibilities that go with it are temporary. When ‘till death do us part’ was replaced with ‘until someone better comes along’. Until we no longer accept divorce as a good thing or an acceptable thing then condemning these wome is hypocritical.
The stigmatization of births out of wedlock has always been connected with Societial defense of the institution of marriage and the family--the family as a multi-generational, ongoing concept.

What planet have you just arrived from?
The condemnation of irresponsible men is constant and relentless. In addition, it should be unnecessary to point out that the court system pretty much deals with the irresponsible men that work and aren't being supported by the taxpayers anyway.
Last but not least, irresponsible men would not be possible without the irresponsible women who empower them--- and then whine about it.
Not constant or relentless enough to harm Giuliani's or Gringrich's chances for teh presidential nomination.
