How can we condemn women who chose to have and raise children on their own and not at the same time condemn men who divorce their wives and leave their children to be raised by them alone or practically alone? A large percentage of our families today are women raising their children on their own anyway, these women are just cutting the failed marriage out of the mix. The problem goes much deeper than merely condemning Murphey Brown or the people on the TV panel. The problem began when we as a society decided that marriage and the responsibilities that go with it are temporary. When ‘till death do us part’ was replaced with ‘until someone better comes along’. Until we no longer accept divorce as a good thing or an acceptable thing then condemning these wome is hypocritical.
The stigmatization of births out of wedlock has always been connected with Societial defense of the institution of marriage and the family--the family as a multi-generational, ongoing concept.

The condemnation of irresponsible men is constant and relentless. In addition, it should be unnecessary to point out that the court system pretty much deals with the irresponsible men that work and aren't being supported by the taxpayers anyway.
Last but not least, irresponsible men would not be possible without the irresponsible women who empower them--- and then whine about it.
