It removed your Outlook Express eh. Sounds like a feature. :)

In all seriousness: I take it that all of your email messages are stored locally (ie there are no copies left on the originating servers) and you are afraid that they are forever kaput?

Here are some options:

You can uninstall IE 7 and expect it all to be back as it was.

You can also go back to the last System Restore point (if you have XP) and get it back.

You can reinstall it from the Add/Remove Programs area by clicking on the left icon that lets you deal with Windows OS programs.

You can find the EXE and recreate the shortcut to it.

Your emails are in a .PST file in a hidden subdirectory under your Docs and Settings folder.

Try making a "Desktop Shortcut" to this (or at least look for it here):

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe"

Good Luck!

I'm not sure which menu area you are speaking of, but you can create a shortcut by right-clicking on the Outlook Express icon. Once done, drag the icon to your Quick Launch bar on the bottom of the screen and it will implement it.

If your Quick Launch bar isn't activated, you can right click on the bottom of the screen and choose it from the Toolbar area.

This holds if the place you get to Outlook Express is from the Quick Launch area or from the desktop.

Also, your data sould be here:

C:\Documents and Settings\(Your XP Identity)\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{your identity ########## here}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Or do a "Search" for "Inbox"...include "hidden/system files/folders".

(These 2 posts assume WinXP, NOT Windows 9x)

Why would anyone be messing with Explorer anymore?
I reluctantly tried out Firefox a few months ago. Now I go back to IE occasionally and remember all over again why I finally stopped using it.

I'd personally recommend Firefox--use that if possible.

http://www.mozilla.com/

However, if you have to use IE for whatever reason, I'd say your best bet is to stick with IE 6 and wait for the release version of 7 to come out.

I have 7.0b2 on my computer--but to do FTP transactions, I have to use IE 6.

As for Outlook Express--I didn't have that problem, so unfortunately I don't know what to tell you there.
