I still can't believe people 2000 years ago were stupid enough to believe that is possible.

You've answered your own question...

"all are THOUGHT to have evolved..." is a far cry from a statement of certainty.

It's too bad that the E side does not publish this all the time; for this is EXACTLY the solid ground upon which they stand.

I do not consider myself a Christian, as I have no belief I can find within me that a fellow named Yeshua died for my sins. I don't reject the idea, but I'll need

hrmn....

Yes.... a fellow named Thomas DID make a statement to this effect!

NIV John 20:24-29
24. Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.
25. So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
26. A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"
27. Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."
28. Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
29. Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

How do you explain black, Chinese, native American people having totally different features?

OH... probably the same way the AKC does when they award trophies to various different looking wolf descendants each year.

Yes, it does mean that all humans today decended from the 4 couples on the Ark (Noah and wife plus 3 sons and their wives). That would ensure sufficient genetic diversity to account for all current races and ethnic groups.

ROFL!!!! No, sorry, this is complete horse manure. You have absolutely no clue about the enormous amount of genetic diversity in the human population:

The patterns of natural variation in human genes
The abstract begins: "Currently, more than 10 million DNA sequence variations have been uncovered in the human genome. "
There is absolutely no freaking way that five people (Noah's sons don't count, they wouldn't have had any alleles that Noah and his wife didn't already have) could carry "sufficient genetic diversity" to account for modern humanity, period. Any population bottleneck that tiny would have had *very* obvious effects on human genetics for millions of years thereafter (if humanity had survived at all -- such bottlenecks can cause extinction due to severe inbreeding), which quite simply are not what we find when we look at the human genome.

However, I doubt that answer will satisfy you.

Well, yeah, because we're not in the habit of being satisified by utter bull***t.

Sorry, no, that doesn't help answer the question, unless you can figure out how to manage to produce the wide diversity of dog breeds from an original breeding population as small as five dogs, with the attendant lack of genetic diversity.

They need to learn well-established facts and theories.

Among which the arbitrary human construct of "natural selection" as responsible for a biological history from amoeba to man is not to be counted. Well-established facts and theories are only possible because they, too, are intelligently designed.

Yawn. Oh look, another post by an anti-evolutionist dishonestly twisting the meaning of someone's wording in order to pretend that evolutionary biology is nothing but people's imaginations, and doesn't actually rest upon vast amounts of actual evidence and research. How tiresomely predictable.

Completely false. The reality of natural selection, and its involvement in "biological history" has been established literally hundreds of thousands of times over.

And if you think that natural selection is just an "arbitrary human construct", try to outrun a lion sometime.

Why don't you go learn something about biology before you attempt to critique it again?

You and I were MEANT to abuse little children! (If evolutionists had their way)

Now, by “have their way” you may think I mean “evolutionists want child abuse to be part of our purpose or intention. This would be a distortion of my intent. It would be, if evolutionists had their way and evolution were true, then child abuse would be part of our psyche.

IMO, you are being very evasive here. It sounds to me that you are trying to justify what you said by saying that the TOE sanctions child abuse, but since humans don't sanction child abuse the TOE must be false.

This is Clintonian rhetoric. It's clear you are implying that those who support the TOE are sanctioning child abuse because you think the TOE sanctions child abuse (which it doesn't)

IMHO, if you don't really mean that why don't you just say you were overenthusiastic in your response at the time and retract. Being human, we all have to do this from time to time.

You cannot prove man evolved any more than I can prove God did it. There is a much more reasonable explanation for any piece of "evidence I have been shown to support evo. So tell me why both shouldn't be presented.

If I may.

The critical phrase is obviously, "have their way."

Scientists, don't get to "have their way," they have either interpreted the data correctly or not. It's not at all like political parties or baseball teams.

I suspect DaveLoneRanger's intent is more benign than it is coming across because of a failure to recognize that this is an argument from consequences, not an interpretation of data. Among lions it is uequivocally true that the male destroys all the available young from a previous male. Among humans we have only indicators of a tendency.

He seems to think that if only scientists would understand the pernicious things evolution (in his eyes) leads to, we'd all give it up unless we, ourselves wanted these nasty consequences.

We tend to dismiss this concern rather than address it. The simple, short version is that we haave evolved other features that can overcome the more unpleasant stuff: medicine and law are two that spring to mind.

If that is DaveLoneRanger's intent, then I'll just add child abuse to the list of evil things creationists erroneously think evolution leads to, like atheism, Communism, Nazism,.... etc. It's getting to be a long list.

Before anyone misunderstands my intent in #558, I don't think atheism is evil. Just that creationists think it is.

...we shouldn't let that detract from the true debate

I'm curious as to what is the "true debate".
