You and I were MEANT to abuse little children! (If evolutionists had their way)
Now, by have their way you may think I mean evolutionists want child abuse to be part of our purpose or intention. This would be a distortion of my intent. It would be, if evolutionists had their way and evolution were true, then child abuse would be part of our psyche.
IMO, you are being very evasive here. It sounds to me that you are trying to justify what you said by saying that the TOE sanctions child abuse, but since humans don't sanction child abuse the TOE must be false.
This is Clintonian rhetoric. It's clear you are implying that those who support the TOE are sanctioning child abuse because you think the TOE sanctions child abuse (which it doesn't)
IMHO, if you don't really mean that why don't you just say you were overenthusiastic in your response at the time and retract. Being human, we all have to do this from time to time.
If I may.
The critical phrase is obviously, "have their way."
Scientists, don't get to "have their way," they have either interpreted the data correctly or not. It's not at all like political parties or baseball teams.
I suspect DaveLoneRanger's intent is more benign than it is coming across because of a failure to recognize that this is an argument from consequences, not an interpretation of data. Among lions it is uequivocally true that the male destroys all the available young from a previous male. Among humans we have only indicators of a tendency.
He seems to think that if only scientists would understand the pernicious things evolution (in his eyes) leads to, we'd all give it up unless we, ourselves wanted these nasty consequences.
We tend to dismiss this concern rather than address it. The simple, short version is that we haave evolved other features that can overcome the more unpleasant stuff: medicine and law are two that spring to mind.
