Three days ago was the first time I've been able to go on the Bubba walk wearing something besides shorts. And yesterday, I was back to shorts.
It's a long, hot summer without Paul Newman. (which is okay since I found out about his politics)
"California GOP Candidate Seeks To Distance Self From Bush" AP reported thusly, for a McCain endorsed "pro-choice" candidate for Chris Cox's vacant seat. But she was defeated & got only 16% vote against national GOP & Club for Growth (McCain's staunch critic) candidate John Campbell.
It 's only proper if they reported - "GOP Candidate who distanced self from Bush lost". Instead they reported - "National GOP candidate forced to run-off election".
Real story here - "Campbell souped McCain endorsed candidate".
I don't think Kristol really understands Bush OR conservatives to a large degree. He continues to believe his brand of conservatism is best for everyone, when in fact he's often wrong.
I stopped listening to G Will years ago so I don't know his position on the war in Iraq. Was he strongly in favor or more neutral, or even libertarianly against military action?
IF ANYTHING, the only thing I am GRATEFUL for, is that he did not choose GONZALES, thanks God!!!!!..... Because that would have put me, and many here, in a very difficult situation. You I, am many Hispanics could care less if they elect or choose someone Hispanic for a particular office . What we want on my side of the Hispanic-spectrum is QUALITY, CONSERVATIVE QUALITY. If we ever produce someone of that caliber, then I might feel proud, but the suggestion that a mediocre candidate would somehow thrill us, the hispanics (all painted with the same brush), is offensive. I don't know where Mr Williams gets that perception other than the fact he is black, and as we all know 90% or so, of blacks vote democratic. We hispanics are a different bunch in many many different ways.
I could say more, but I'll stop here :)
That's might be considered a ridiculous statement by less kind posters. Since Harriet has been around for 59 years and never had a low profile, she is hardly stealth.
Silly you, of course not! That would constitute being an "invasive" question. Can't do that to the burglar.
I don't know what Sandypants' punishment is/was for parole violation. It might be another tough sentence! /s
The media loves him because they use him as the conservative barking head on those debates they have.
This way they get to have a Bush hater debating a Bush hater.
Right. It was Bush who gave Presidential medal of freedom to Inving Kristol, who was Bill Kristol's father. Looks like breeding NOT always works.
When some of our dear Republican friends in the Senate say to Bush, "I've got you back,"
they're holding a knife--a long one.
I agree with your sentiment. These ankle-biters are a bunch of ungrateful self-promoters and I for one am sick of all the whining.
We're getting more whining on this than we got on the Clintoon pardons.
Of course the MSM loves nothing more than conservatives that want to criticize their own, that's why they get attention after all.
That is ridiculous and truly, imo, insulting.
You must have a very shallow standard for our Father if you believe my comments about our President represent worship.
And I have never met a perfect person and doubt you have, either.
Your faith in our President, AS A PRESIDENT, must be very shaky...you like him when he does something you like, and you are 'woe, the end of the earth is near' when he does something you disagree with...
This President has had to fight to battles...a horrific, insidious, liberal mainstream press that skewed his messages and sabatoges every chance that it can, and horrific terrorists who want to destroy his beloved nation.
Klinton NEVER had to fight the mainstream media, they could not kiss his big fat lilly white ass enough.
And klinton did not have the courage to fight the terrorists.
If you think our President would betray us by putting a weak, ineffective, unlearned, shallow, liberal, swing voting, media hungry person on the Supreme Court...go for it...I'll stick behind our President, I have LOVED the people he has CHOSEN to surround himself with since he chose Dick Cheney to be his running mate first time around.
Your doom and gloom doesn't cut it with me.
Our President knows EXACTLY when to go for the throat....and he may have done JUST THAT with Harriet.
Time will tell.
I'm with Miss Marple. It's about time Kristol got a smack down.
Two great posts here.
I believe Bush than Kurtz.
I saw a bit of the Wall Street Journal review show this morning. James Taranto said that he attended the National Review gala 50th anniversary dinner this week and in a crowd of 1000 he could find no one who supported Miers nomination. I think it is pique of these "establishment conservatives" that President Bush is acting independently of them.
Great post
The more I learn about her, the more impressed I am with her. She has openly argued in defense of the Second Amendment and has always been a public and staunch pro-life advocate.
Maybe it's better few people realize these things about her, because the Dems would quickly Bork another strict Constitutionalist like she is.
