Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave member of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Reuters is reporting that North Korea warned that if sanctions are imposed against it for its nuclear weapons development program, it will mean war.

The Washington Times is saying the troop buildup is moving along in such a way that a February attack against Iraq could be ordered by the President.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi Government announced it is building two defense rings around Baghdad. The outer ring is composed of regular Iraqi army and Republican Guards. The Iraqis expect that defense line cannot be held, so they have built an inner line, composed of "Special Republican Guards." (This is the first such mention of these units I have come across - wonder if that was because of the miserable showing of the "vaunted" Republican Guards in the 1991 war. Wonder if these "Special" units will do any better.) The Iraqi Government says it is upon this defense line the American army will break.

Stateside - Dick Gebhardt announced he will not run for any more Congressional terms after his time in the 108th Congress is over.

SayDamn really putting the fear into the troops right? The 'home gaurd' having war games? Probally seeing how fast they can run---the other way the troop are coming from. Lets see no, that is like me standing before the NY Giants, me facing the whole team and saying 'come get me, I am ready to whip you all'. (Would have said the Saints but we all know I COULD whip them single handed).

I love it reading here every morning, I see we go from cats to politics, to war, to dogs, to snow, to warm weather, to 'little suttle digs' (friendly type), to saddness to happeness, to sickness to 'how to get well', just like a family and, just a little 'gossip' thrown in on the side. Only can friends do this and in our own little neighborhood, we are the best of friends.

D is just got the umphs, down in the drumps so----think I will take her to the casino today and do a little wagering, she needs to get out and relax. Ain't gonna wage the farm, just enough to relax and get away from it all.

Soooooo, prayers that we all stay free from sickness,from injuries and for love with our wonderful families. We all need to keep OUR President W in the forefront of our prayers, to be kept safe from all enemys, physical and injuries from words. That ole tounge can bring down nations and kings so, pray hard. Prayers for us old coggers who sit back and see that you younger folks are doing pretty darn good in this ole world so please, keep it up. Have a good day.

gc ~~~ I see a lot people saying (what an odd way of expression but it seems natural here on FR ..... LOL!) that they think OBL must be dead because he hasn't shown himself but I'm not sure I agree with that theory.

If I remember correctly, before 9/11 whenever the news media talked about him they showed the same ol' video clip each time and it was from dan rather's trip over to find OBL in his cave. And he certainly never bragged openly about some of the other attacks he was responsible for in the last 10 years.

He's no camera hog ..... and he seems to be quite single-minded, though that mind is filled overabundantly with evil thoughts. I think accomplishing his evil purposes is more important to him that showing up on tv. /my 2 cents

Hi Bev. Glad to hear the good news about Larry.

That was the vet's first thought - that the thyroid med. might need to be reduced - but that checked out okay..... so that and the rise in the calcium level suggests some kind of cancer. He recommended that we not subject her to further tests at this point, and that seemed wise to me.

We'll just have to see what happens.

lysie, husband is having a little trouble losing those last 4-5 #s on the diet....but his bp is definitely down, and today he sees his endocrinologist to get test results...

Will let you know if his trig. are DOWN, and his HDL is UP, as we hope!

And also the dr.'s reaction....
