We will not live in fear! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

North Korea admits to a secret nuclear weapons program, according to a senior Administration official.

The source said [Assistant Secretary of State] Kelly [while visiting the reclusive Communist Nation on security talks] also raised with North Korea evidence that North Korea may have a uranimum-enrichment program. The program, which the United States believes would only be used to develop a nuclear bomb, began under the Clinton administration, according to the official.

Surprisingly, North Korea confirmed the allegation. FULL STORY HERE.

The ACLU has announced they are looking into whether the Defense Department violated the Posse Comitatus Act by supplying assistance to local police departments in the Washington area looking for the sniper.

Washington area police offered these tips to improve people's safety:

Click here to obtain information being offered by Washington-area police departments on how to help protect yourself from the sniper.

And BS refers to Saddam Hussein as an Iranian dictator in a Truth Alert

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

We live in an area with a large Asian population, and I love to see the little ones who are trick-or-treating for the very first time. They are so enthralled.:)

Woo-hoo! We just got back from talking to a loan officer at our bank about getting pre-approved for a home loan. We didn't do all the paperwork yet, but found out that even on our piddly little part-time jobs we've had since August we can get a loan for a minimum of $86,000 for a 15-year mortgage. Add in our $15,000 downpayment and we're looking at over $100,000 which, around here in middle Tennessee, can buy plenty of house. We were just hoping to get an approval for, say, $60,000 so this is good new to us.

Around here the malls all have trick-or-treating,

We do too, but I can see the wide-open parking lots in Tysons Corner or Dulles Town Centre as being perfect for our nut. The question is: which 1 of the places, if any, is a target.

I can choose to risk my life or not, Mrs. Chairman can make the same choice (though I would try to influence it, as she would me). But I have a responsibility to provide as best I can for my kids safety, and the parking lots of our major malls are simply too wide open, and I can't get them close enough to the door.

It's too much.

Don't forget, however, pre-approval is nothing more than the banks willingness to put you through the rest of the meat-grinder. You didn't hit any of the very basic trip wires, so you have entered the maze ready to look for the cheese.

[Sorry to mix metaphors.]

OK, enthusiasm duly dampened. We're really newbies at this, even though we're a combined 90 years old between the two of us.

Way to go with the new house hunt - excellent news.

Two buddies Bob and Earl were two of the biggest baseball fans in America. Their entire adult lives, Bob and Earl discussed baseball history in the winter, and they pored over every box score during the season. They went to 60 games a year. They even agreed that whoever died first would try to come back and tell the other if there was baseball in heaven.

One summer night, Bob passed away in his sleep after watching the Yankee victory earlier in the evening. He died happy. A few nights later, his buddy Earl awoke to the sound of Bob's voice from beyond. "Bob is that you?" Earl asked. "Of course it me," Bob replied.

"This is unbelievable!" Earl exclaimed. "So tell me, is there baseball in heaven?"

"Well I have some good news and some bad news for you. Which do you want to hear first?"

Earl excitedly replies, "Tell me the good news first."

"Well, the good news is that yes there is baseball in heaven, Earl."

"Oh, that is wonderful! So what could possibly be the bad news?"

"You're pitching tomorrow night."

Good one, lodwick.

Thanks for the congratulations. We haven't looked very seriously yet at homes. We have had our eyes on an a very rural area not far from the interstate, looking for an acre or two on which to possibly build. But we're finding it's more expensive than we thought because it's a little closer to Nashville and a fast-growing population.

Anyway, it looks like it's more of a buyer's market than a builder's market. Once we get pre-approved, we can start narrowing our options. I think we're pretty easily satisfied sizewise, but I do kind of hope we can get an acre at least.

I hear the "creation moment" every morning on my way to work. CMI exists to glorify God by presenting scientific evidences for the literal truth of the Bible. Very cool facts.

You picked a beautiful part of the country in which to live: when we visit relatives at their Lake Cumberland KY house, we fly into Nashville and get to see all the tall trees, the mountains, and the rivers and streams.

You'll know your place when you see it.

A Singaporean perspective on the bombing in Bali

Our former pastor just sent the following to us as a way of informing us very briefly what is going on in Singapore and how they are praying for the situation in Bali. Singapore is so close to Indonesia that they really are vulnerable if things get out of hand over there. Whoever wrote this is talking about both the government's response and what the Christian response should be.

Greetings from Singapore. Yes, we are all a bit shell shocked but I can sense real good happening too -

well, you see, Prime Minister Goh has mooted this idea of a religious harmony pledge, and the Muslim community has also banded together to issue a statement of their stand against radical islam and terrorism.

The word is out - engage and integrate, not isolate or disengage. This i sense is probably the first time, everyone in our community is urged to dialogue and build bridges across religious and ethnic lines. Very healthy phenomenon.

In Indonesia, the extremist Islamic group has also disbanded themselves in the light of all that's happening, and moderate muslims are getting very fed up with these radicals.

PLease pray not just for protection, but also wisdom for the body of Christ to know how to respond and to show acceptance and love rather than suspicion and fear.

And together we continue to ask our Father to 'teach us to number our days, that we might present to Thee a heart of wisdom.'

You 2 thoughtful gentlemen: question -

This a.m. at Bible Study, I was told that various evangelical Christian groups are making headway in Cuba.

IF this is true.....what does this say about these groups, and Castro's regime?

The context of the remark came because somehow we got on the subject of that Bay of Pigs anniversary conference which was held recently in Cuba.
