I believe that our Dads are still with us, that they watch over us and that they look out for us. And I believe that they know we are posting about them with fondness and love.
I was lucky enough to have a special relationship with my Dad, and he will live in my heart forever.
Dad would've loved FR. :)

Loddy might not miss Chinese food. He has Tex-Mex and *gasp* barbecue.

Up in Tacoma, where we go for our Chicago style meals, a few blocks down there is a huge Asian section of town, with grocery stores, touristy type stores, and loads of restaurants...I think its mainly VietNamese....we have never gone to the restaurants, but have it on our list of places to go...
We have lots of great Chinese restaurants, along with Cambodian, Laotian, Vietnamese and Japanese, simply because so many of them immigrate here from Asia, and many remain in this area, rather than going to other parts of the country....
The various ethnic communities are already in place, which makes it easier for them to integrate in, and they are really quite successful...they start many different businesses, one of the main ones being restaurants...they also are very successful up at the Pike Street Market, the woman making some of the most beautiful quilted items I have ever seen....
Seattle, and Tacoma, to a lesser degree are really international communities, and have the restaurants to show for that...makes for goooood eats...

My dad died in 1989....he was interested in everything, and was an avid reader and amateur investigator into everything...he would have been thrilled with the internet, and the ability to find anything and everything online...
But alas, he died, before the internet took off...but had he been alive when the internet was taking off, mom would have had to pry him offline...he would have never left voluntarily....LOL....he loved information, of any sort...and loved to read and to learn...

Did Jimmy Wong sell Won Hung Lo soup??

my dad was left winger
but I assume in Heaven he has balanced view
altho his best friends were Republicans (the guys he played tennis with)
my dad adored them
one said to him ''Leon, why do we need another political party
we already have the Republican Party''
lol I bet Leon was stunned
he voted third party leftist my whole life
altho I'm sure FDR was god to him before I was born
it was only cause he believed the propaganda that barry goldwater would blow up the planet if he won
that my dad voted democratic party that year

My dad loved to learn, also. He owned a successful business and was completely devastated when my mom died.
Our Dads would have been friends had they known each other here. They are probably friends right now. :)

Hola, Quai Chang. ;-)
To: andysandmikesmom
you know andysmom I bet my dad too would have been internet addict
he also loved to read and learn stuff
but more than anything he loved communicating
I just dont see how he could be on FR with his politics
and I heard the left wing sites are deadly dull (with no sense of humor)

If Enzyte doesn't work as advertised, you may brighten your whites like Clorox!!
You go and live large, but ask for the brown paper bag wrapper...and get BigDom to intercept it at work;-)
To: Kathleen; andysandmikesmom
Kathy, same thought crossed my mind
I bet our three dads are friends now
they all loved making people laugh and had good sense of humor
and liked to have fun
and had lots of spirit (and were warm loving guys too)
To: habs4ever
lol another mr kelbasa graces our thread
To: habs4ever
Habs you are a riot tonite....
BigDom intercepting his Enzyte...now that would be something to behold....all his nosy postal employee coworkers would just have to know what was in that brown paper bag...
To: palo verde; All
Loddy is talking about food, while you are talking about garden hoses and the Donna Reed Show. It's all family friendly content ;-)
To: palo verde; habs4ever; lodwick
Palo, you are a riot also...all the Mr. Kielbasa guys on this thread sure are fun....
To: habs4ever
thank you for your clear perspective
To: palo verde
My dad was GOP to the core. He despised WJC and at the time I was apolitical and never understood why dad felt so strongly.
A few days after dad died, I saw a television set running constant news with the banner at the bottom. I asked my cousin what was going on and he told me about the Monica scandal. I asked him what day the story broke and he told me January 20. 1998.
That was same my dad died, and it was the beginning of my political education.
I found the internet thereafter, and the rest is history.
To: andysandmikesmom
rofl you crack me up
