How right you are....because these 'natural' supplements are not regulated by the FDA, often they make ridiculous claims, and I dont think they have a lot of testing behind them...
Some Mr. Weiner may indeed someday, regret that perpetual smile...

No wonder you don't want to cook with all that magnificent Mexican food all around you. Sounds delish. :)

Mrs. Weiner wouldn't be so happy anymore, either...
I do like the campy 50's-60's motif in the commercials, tho. :)

I am indeed looking forward to visiting the Palo in Arizona, and having some good, cheap, delicious, authentic Mexican food...Palo can order in Spanish...
Here is a story, maybe some of you have heard it, maybe not, but here goes...
On our first trip out west, when I was 12, Dad was excited about trying new foods(tho his specialty was sampling his hamburgers across the country)...
Anyway, on our way back from California, we stopped in a small town in New Mexico, or Arizona, cannot remember which one....we then went to a nice looking Mexican family style restaurant...dad wanted to sample Mexican foods...
Now, most of the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant did not speak English, nor did any of the customers...but they did understand a little bit of English...
Dad was able to convey that he wanted 1 taco and 1 enchilada for each member at the table...the waitress looked horrified...she kept shaking her head, 'No', too much food...but dad insisted...
So she reluctantly put in our order...when she came with the food, it was dads turn to be horrified...for what he had wound up ordering was one taco dinner, and one enchilada dinner for all of us...that meant the taco dinners were three tacos, with beans and rice, and teh enchilada platter was three enchiladas with beans and rice...
The waitress was right...this was way too much food...so we wound up eating what we could and we took the rest of the stuff with us to the motel, for midnight dining...
It was so cheap and so good, that the misunderstanding was trivial in retrospect....we always laughed about that, how dad tried to blow us all up, with tons of Mexican food...

You are right about the 50s and 60s motif...I had to wonder where they got those clothes from...

I do so enjoy reading stories about your father. He sounds like he was a wonderfully fun man. My father is gone now, too. He was the Italian version of your Dad, he was also one of a kind, and also lots of fun.
It's nice to have such good memories of our parents.
To: andysandmikesmom
rofl I love your mexican restaurant story
your dad is such a doll
To: palo verde
We are lucky enough to have a magnificent Chinese restaurant right between the house and the office. They recognize our voices when we call them for take out in the evening on our way home. :)
To: palo verde
Chicago also had superb Chinese food...
I think Chicago has great food all round, lots of international foods...because there are really huge populations of various ethnic groups, and inevitably many of them start up restaurants...
Chicago has great Polish, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, German, etc etc etc foods..you just have to know where to go to get it...
In Chicago, whenever we went downtown shopping, a late lunch or early dinner meal at Jimmy Wongs, on Wabash, was always a must...no matter how tired out we were from shopping, we knew the shopping day ended with a delicious treat from Jimmy Wongs...

my dad is in Heaven too
altho it would be fun to think all 3 of our dads are reading what we are writing now from Heaven
To: palo verde; Kathleen
Yes, those memories of our parents are so dear, and treasured...it seems to me, that those memories provide a link from out parents to us, to our children, that hopefully they will pass down...a link to the past, that makes our ancestors more than just names, it makes them so real to our descendants, that never knew them in person...
In my mind, thats so very important, family continuity.....
To: Kathleen
you are lucky to have great chinese restaurant near by
does Candy like chinese food?
To: palo verde; Kathleen
We also have lots of great Chinese restaurants here, being on the Pacific coast, we have a great influx from Asia...
We also have a Chinatown up in Seattle...shamefully, we have never been there, but do plan, maybe even this weekend, to make a visit there...We have been to Chinatown in San Fran, many times, but never the one here in our own backyard...shame on us...
It would be nice, if all three of our dads were up in Heaven, overseeing us speaking about them...they would love it, I am sure...to see themselves remembered with such fondness...
To: lodwick; andysandmikesmom; Kathleen
loddy, maybe out west doesnt have good chinese food
till you get to the coast?
kathy and andysmom, but if loddy spent his whole life in Texas he might not know what real chinese food tastes like?
