Morning Sweetness - the embezzling thread is so very tiresome to read - but fascinating in a "I can't turn away from the head-on-collision" kinda way. There are some very bitter freepers out there.

Great job with pic Gran - another stunner. Thank you. JL

Hmmm.. seems that the other half of that one didn't come out. That was actually three seperate scans of two different drawings. The one titled "For Laura" was done as a preliminary for a tattoo. It was supposed to be in color, but Laura died before telling me anything beyond, "Blue". The other one was a requested drawing, to finish the original. I didn't want to screw the original up, so I redrew the whole thing. Then titled the remake, "Nox Aeternus en Pax"

Had it not been for Linda Tripp and Matt Drudge
bentmember would have skated right on outta office
with not many people the wiser to his perfidity.

To me, Linda is the real hero in revealing sinkmeister.

There's lots of us out here who thought that W
would go in and clean house - especially in the
justice department. I can only hope that if conservatives
prevail this November that things will change.
But I don't know. Maybe the toon has too much dirt
on too many folks for anything to ever change in DC.

For the most part DC is a corrupt and a corrupting place.
Very few can go there and not be secuced by the easy
money, the easy women, and their sense of power.

A wonderful Wednesday to all who pass through the Doorway. JL

Candy woke up in an exceptionally good mood today and has spent her morning making her rounds charming everyone she sees. She is too cute. :)

Thank you Loddy for expressing my thoughts on this issue better than I ever could.

Good morning all...chilly here this morning, just 51 degrees, and due to go up to 73...so it will be a nice day...

On the matter of politics...here is my take, take it for what is worth....

I dont believe that any current President will ever take any steps to purposefully disgrace or disparage another former President, especially to the point, where that former President risks going to jail...its just not done...

Its as if, once a person becomes President, they operate on a different level, always trying to protect the ideal, the office, the integrity of the 'President', even tho a former president, by his actions, has disgraced that office...

Its like in the military...when a soldier salutes, he is not saluting the officer in the uniform, he is saluting the rank on that uniform, the ideal of paying respect to the rank, even tho you may hate the person in that uniform...
Its difficult to understand, how one can salute and respect the rank on a uniform, yet perhaps hate the individual representing that rank...

And so it goes, I think with Presidents, past, and present...its as if they believe that by disparaging a former President, you are disparaging the office of President itself, and as I said before, its just not done...

I believe that in general politics is a corrupting force...a politician may have the best of intentions, but the power, the prestige, the opportunity for making money, the influence, the media coverage, are corrupting forces...and whether the corruption is inherent in politics itself, or whether the corruption flourishes because, we as humans, as weak, is another question...

That does seem to be a pessimisstic view of politics, yet one which I have held for so very many years...which is why I am never surprised when this or that politician gets caught at doing something he should not be doing...

I guess the job for us regular folks, us regular voters, is to try to decide which politician is the least corrupt...at least that is how I have to vote....

I will never trust any politician fully, never...from the local politicians in my own town, to the President of the United States, not one of them has my absolute trust...

Politicians must be kept on their toes, by being regularly criticised and scrutinized....by placing blind faith in any politician, is asking for trouble, as far as I am concerned...

Call me untrusting, paranoid, pessimistic, if you must, but at least I am not surprised when even what are deemed by others to be honest politicians get caught in some scheme or illegal venture...

Do I ever think that Pres. Bush will ever take steps to root out the evil, and shenanigans of the Clintons? No, I dont think that will ever come to pass...

The integrity of the ideal of the office of 'President' seemingly must be kept, regardless of what offenses particular individuals have done while in the office of President...

Am I a cynic? Absolutely...Do I see all politics with a jaded eye? You bet....

Rant for the day is over..some would say I should be medicated....

YOU are SPOT ON..and using the military rank analogy is the IDEAL one to use....I can faithfully attest to that here....You all know how I am soooo most unhappy with my boss right now...but the rank this person holds is the respect she gets from me..havening spent 10 years in the military I can't just set that aside...and politicians are the same. You respect the office they hold, not the individual....

I dont often rant on, about politics, but just every so often I get a weed up my butt, and off I go...thanks for your kind remarks...

If anyone ever watched 'Band of Brothers' on HBO(if you have not seen it, should it ever come on again, watch it, its grand)you will remember that early on, there was one fella who was a regular SOB and all the men in his unit hated him....but he was in charge...however, the higher ups, relieved him of his duties with this unit, and he did not go overseas with them...but there was one point during the training time, when this SOB told a man in his unit, that he was due a salute, because even tho he was hated as an individual, they must salute his uniform...

A few years later, this SOB actually runs into one of the men formally under his command, a man who now outranks the SOB...the SOB sees him, and does not salute him...he reminds the SOB of his own words...you are saluting the uniform, not the man inside the uniform...much as the SOB did not want to give the salute, the tables were turned, his words came back to haunt him, and he had to salute a man he had tried to ruin...

Band of Brothers, had many lessons to teach us all...

Ah, time to wake BigDom and get him started on his day...oj and yogurt coming up...followed by hot coffee....followed by a big juicy steak, medium rare....need to get those 'bodily fluids' moving, so he can work, work, work...

And Dizzy is complaining that he has not had enough attention...

Ah, these men of mine, so demanding...

See ya all later...
