He may still "Want Your Sex," but past-his-prime pop pervert George Michael no longer wants your scorn - he says he won't release a President Bush-bashing single in the United States.
The song, "Shoot the Dog," which was released in Britain, insinuates that Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair are gay lovers.
Link The accompanying video also depicts a cartoon Bush tickling Blair's tummy like a dog on the White House grounds.
Michael, who was busted in 1998 in a Beverly Hills men's room for performing lewd sex acts in front of a cop, backpedaled like crazy when talking about the song on CNN's "Talkback Live" show.
"I think it should be remembered that it was never intended to be released in America, because I simply think that would have been - well, apart from bad timing, it would have been disrespectful," he told one caller.
But the show's callers didn't buy Michael's claim that the song - which calls Bush "trigger-happy" and accuses him of "bullying" the world" - was really a swipe at Blair.
"You can't tell me that you did not intend to slam our country when you slam our president," said a caller, Leah from Florida.
"You can talk about your own family, but I'll be danged if I am going to let somebody else step in from the outside and talk about them," she said.
There were no hot dogs on our grill yesterday - instead there were "brats". But afterwards, I was thinking, gee I would rather have had a hot dog....Your post just reaffirmed that...
Thanks for that News Flash, HLL. I might add it is also an "in your face" to Benjamin Bratt, as in "See I got married too, just as soon as I could".
And has there been any mention of a prenup? Danny Boy can make out pretty good if he hangs in there for a bit.....
What's with the elite WH Press Corps anyway...They don't have anything better to do on a Holiday weekend?
A White House valet holds a pair of garment bags over Jenna Bush, daughter of U.S. President George W. Bush, as she makes her way to Marine One on the South Lawn of the White House July 5, 2002. White House personnel appeared to be trying to shield the president's daughter from members of the White House Press Corps.
President Bush retained his sense of humor this week despite the heat wave.
Joining wife Laura in a White House event Wednesday commemorating the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark expedition, Dubya said: "It's fitting, and amazing, when you think about it, that we're holding this event here in the East Room, because this is where [Meriwether] Lewis lived when he was [Thomas] Jefferson's private secretary."
He added that "the second First Lady, ... Abigail Adams, actually used to hang the washing here. And I want to thank Laura for getting my underwear out before the event started."
hehehehe! I just love a man with a sense of humor! Link
So do I. But even more, I'd love a man that does his own laundry.
Yeah, apparently Gov. 'toon's attire was completely awful. I saw an interview with Paula Jones were she described what the 'toon looked like that first day she met him.
He had walked up to the table where her and another young lady were handing out information about the convention they were attending. He stood at the table leering at them for awhile and when he finally (her emphasis) left they laughed at how badly he was dressed.
Paula said his three piece suit looked like it was three sizes too small for him and the fit aside, the suit material was just plain tacky. Her and the friend roared with laughter about it and how goofy looking he was in general (he wasn't her type) until the infamous trooper walked over and told her the gov. wanted to see her upstairs.
Was your potato dish a hit at your party yesterday? I opted for potato salad yesterday, being somewhat of a 4th of July traditionalist, but do intend on doing your taters this weekend-have all the ingredients and am good to go.
