Oh, that man never misses out on his fun.. Never!! The reason it was 6 wimmin at first, was because I forgot the three young Chicksa's (how do you spell that in Jewish?) that crashed our party close to the end.. Those wimmin had already eaten, and I had to eat while they were glomming my hubster.. The indignity of it all.. ;) The big ice cream cake was good tho..

OH Grannie...I hate hearing about the roof...we have to also have a new roof put on the house this year...probably sometime during the summer, or maybe even in September...need to have them do it, when we know for sure it will be dry for a few days...
I am not looking forward to having this done, its a mess, and will deplete the savings by quite a lot, but it needs to be done...
We have not started yet, looking for a roofer...I know Sears does it, and then there are the local places...hubby is talking about 'The Roof Doctor', as they seem to do a lot of roofs around this area...
And its also time to have the septic tank pumped out...eh gaads...lots of money going out the window...
Well, as long as I have enough money for a few dollies here and there, I should not complain...

Oh Neets, that's horrible.. What will we do without you all day? Snot funny at alllll.. sob...

We checked with Home Depot first.. We got their price and said, forget it. We finally found a local company with a price muuuuch lower than Home Depot. We got the best of the best for thousands of dollars less. So.. shop around.. Home Depot was using local people, they were just getting their cut too, and were giving us less for our money.. Way less.. You're right tho.. as clean and good as they try to be, roofing makes a mess.. Especially if you have to strip the roof too.. Ugh..

For sure, if its too clean and neat, the hubby will think he is in the wrong house...I am only a moderate housekeeper, not a slob, but not a neat freak either...
Most of my married life, there have been kids, and all their friends in the house, and scads of cats, dogs, bunnies, and even pet rats, and it was just fruitless, to try to keep everything in its place...so we have that 'lived in' look, and thats the way it is...
Several years ago, my husband went down to Florida, to visit his aunt and uncle who were ill and aging, and he wanted to spend time with them, before they got any worse...his aunt was a complete 'neat freak'...she could not stand to see a speck of dust anywhere, or any little speck of dirt anywhere, or a dirty cup in the sink...it drove her nuts...
And her constant cleaning, and picking up constantly behind everyone, made my husband nuts...But this aunt and uncle never had any children, nor every had any pets, so for the aunt, her house was a prominent part of hr life ...each to their own, I gues....
If my house was absolutely spic and span, and sparkling all over, and everything in its place, the hubby would figure either he was in the wrong house, or else I had hired some help...
I suspect, no matter what, he will just be glad to be home...vacation is always nice, but its just so true, 'Theres no Place Like Home'....

the sooner you get out of that job the better
I am praying, neets
I want you to have life of cooking, gardening, romancing, posting, and being happy
To: grannie9
Thanks for that tip about Home Depot...I think, its like you say, when we are ready, we will just have to check around...I think this Roof Doctor is local in our area, and it seems that we see them out doing roofs more than any other company...I know they are local, and have been doing roofs in this area for decades, so I know we will be checking them out...I am just dreading the whole undertaking...
To: andysandmikesmom
I'm the same way Mom...I like a NEAT house but not sterile....but kids can never do much but muck up after spending hours cleaning...so as long the dishes are washed and the laundry done....I don't pay particular attention to the rest of it.....

I am with you...Laundry done, dishes done, reasonably tidy...thats it....
One of my sons friends mothers, was so funny...she raised three wild boys, was an Air Force wife for more than 20 years, always had several pets, and the kids always like to crowd into either her house or my house...
Her house, most of the time, looked like a hurricane had struck, and you know, it never phased her at all...she would just say, she had spent way too many years, in military housing, trying to always keep things neat and clean, and by gosh, once she bought her own house, no one was going to do a white glove inspection, and tell her how to keep house...
Her attitude was that, you were coming over to visit her or her hubby, or the kids, you were not visiting the house, and if you did not like her house that way it was, Well, then, she said, "Get the H-ll Out"..
I am with her on this one...
