hi Darksheare
your nature writing is best I ever read
fofl bout your catbird hecklin' your cat
your other story is wondrous too
thanks heaps
love, palo
To: Canadian Outrage
yes that WW11 vet, westy
he is now banned in Canada
To: palo verde
Thanks. I've been hanging around today. Sorta. Loddy said earlier "Morning." by the time I got back on-line.. it was evening. Oh well, that's my timing.
NiMH is a brown/Tan and Black striped tabby. We call him the 'nickel metal hydride' cat. Make the mistake of letting him sleep for five.. and he'll be awake for quite some time.....

NiMH is some cat!
andysmoms cat Dizzy just gets stoned all day, but NiMH leads active life
chrissie's cats are movie stars
CanadianOutrage's cat likes to go in and out door when it snows outside
To: okimhere
hi oki
by miracle fire on mountain did not get any of the cabins up there
and owners can return to them soon
our sky was blue today
I am thrilled
plus I can see mountains perfectly again
JOY
is your fire on mountain out?
To: palo verde
NiMH hates snow. It spoils his fun, the birds can see him then. That, and his paws get wet. (He also hates the rain and cold. If he comes in the front door, he wants out the back door hoping that the weather out there is different.)
Movie star cats? Hmmm.. wonder if my 22.5 pound heffer of a cat could do that? Kearen cat has the coat pattern of a Holstein. She also gets angry if I'm not in bed when she thinks I should be. She nips my ankles if I'm not in the room when she thinks I should be in there. (Co-dependant cat?) She's a love, though. Her little nose gets all pink when she gets skritches and loves, then she gets all psycho-stalker and nips.
Wonder how many of us here have cats that seem more human than most people we know?
To: Darksheare
rofl Darksheare
both your cats are such a trip!
they have so much spirit (and poise)
To: Canadian Outrage
I've never been a fan of Chretien's, never fear ;-)
To: Darksheare
You're quick tonight ;-)Very good post, and clever play on words and themes.
To: palo verde
Yes, that Dizzy does like to remain stoned all day long...tho, sometimes he gets frisky, and wants me to get out some of his toys on a pole and string, and he likes to hide under a blanket, like a little spy...Then I am supposed to fling his toy near where he is hiding, and slowly pull it, and he leaps out from under blanket, and attacks the toy...
But that lasts only about 10 minutes..then hes ready for a nap....I wish I could let him out, but being that he was declawed when we got him, he has no defenses, and there are lots of other cats, that come into our yard...
I know Dizzy is brave, and would try to protect his turf, but he does not realize he has no claws, and he would wind up getting hurt in a catfight....
To: andysandmikesmom; okimhere
hi andysmom
I forgot bout that
when I used to have cats that was their favorite thing
slowly pull toy on string
and they leap out and attack it
altho Dizzy adds twist to game by lying under blanket like spy rofl
Love, Palo
oki we just got relief from heat, so expect yours in one hour
(but today was not as bad) (it was only 101°)
To: palo verde
I'm glad to hear that your fire is out. It's such a relief not to see any smoke at all, isn't it? The weary firefighters can go home and rest.
Ours should be contained by Friday. The Fire Dept. that was conducting training exercises up there said officially, "Sorry.......".
To: okimhere
yes, oki huge relief not to see smoke anymore
radio just said 70% out, but also said firefighters will be deployed to other parts of country now
I've never been deprived of our blue sky here 'cept when we had bona fide clouds
it was a drag!
To: okimhere
is your fire still not contained?
that is rough
To: palo verde
I found FR down for a very short time this morning so I tried to go to FreeDominion - what follows the dot? I used .com and that was obviously wrong. I did go to Yahoo and someone there said FR was down in their area, too.
To: okimhere
lemme look
try freedominion.ca
(I guess for canada)
To: palo verde
Gosh you have got some heat there...I have been away from very high temps for so long, I am afraid I would just pass out from all that heat...our high, here today, was I think only in the high 60s...right now its 68 degrees...and that will be the probable high for the rest of the week...
But when I used to live in North Carolina, and down at my parents in California, I survived those high temps...
But we have been out here in Western Washington for so long now, that high heat is just unthinkable to me...
I guess its all just a matter of what you eventually get used to...
To: andysandmikesmom
hi andysmom
exactly
what surprised me the most was how sensitive I became to cold in tucson
I never remember cold bothering me when I lived up north
but least ittybitty cold here (dropping down to 60s)
I get chilly, and can't wait for it to warm up again
we call ourselves ''Arizona wimps'' cause of this
means can't take the cold
Love, Palo
To: palo verde
wimp....lol
To: palo verde
And we are Washington wimps becasue we cannot stand any heat....
