Christa Pike, a Tennessee inmate who survived Tennessee’s attempt to execute her, is conscious and speaking as she continues to receive medical care at a hospital, according to a statement from her attorneys.
“Against all odds, Christa Pike is conscious, speaking, and continues to receive critical medical care. Despite the severe damage she endured to her arms, she is still handcuffed and shackled to the bed. Her recovery is medically unprecedented. Her prognosis remains unclear but, at a minimum, we expect a long recovery,” her attorneys said in a statement.
Pike survived two ostensibly lethal doses of pentobarbital last week after prison staff tried twice to carry out her planned execution for the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer.

She requested hanging.
Strada, head of the Dept. of Corrections in Tennessee, resigned. Apparently, Strada was formerly employed in Arizona at a facility that experienced problematic executions.
Why he was hired by the State of Tennessee is a mystery!
I bet she regrets her request for an all female execution squad.
Although the requirements put in place by the state still would have guaranteed her a screwed up execution even if men tried it.
One of the radio guys I listen to said: “Isn’t that remarkable? They say the medical staff at the hospital is giving her life saving treatments now.”
To reverse the life ending actions before.
Now there apparently is some compliance; the squad has been subjected to firing.
Okay. Now end her.
If you think this execution was a fiasco, wait until she sues the state and that clown show gets underway.
They had to have cleaned the pentobarbital out of her system with dialysis for her to regain cognizance that quickly.
Which requires circulatory tubes (they managed to find her veins at the hospital). Still - the woman told them she was a hard stick and personally requested hanging, so it’s not like she was trying to scheme out with dehydration as some have implied.
Meanwhile a legislative circus will proceed over ethics and better means of execution. I’m for a sealed chamber where nitrogen displaces the air.
Because one set of folks were not medical workers and one set was...just my thoughts no evidence.
The attempt was intentionally incompetent, imo.
Execute the sentence in the same manner she used on her victim.

FR glitching again?
Sorry for the multiple posts.
How many children did Terry murder?
O Canada, O can’t you put her down?
She should do some Tik Tok videos. Singing and dancing.
“Despite the severe damage she endured to her arms, she is still handcuffed and shackled to the bed”
No bias there. :-)
Gee, maybe they should kill her the way she killed her victim.
After all, she wasn’t so concerned about being humanitarian to the woman she murdered.
And of course, the judicial system these days could not care less about the victims. They’re only bleeding hearts over the criminals. The victims be damned.
