Dashcam video from a Tesla on Philadelphia's I-76 caught a horrifying moment on camera this week, when a tire barreling down the highway slammed headfirst into a moving car.
The tire is seen in one clip bouncing down the highway median before hitting a Nissan SUV in the left lane.
The car's hood was smashed in, and the impact shattered its windshield.
The tire was launched straight into the air on the busy highway.
It is currently unclear where the tire came from.
It is also unknown whether anybody was injured in the wreck.

The incident happened just after noon near Girard Avenue in West Philadelphia.
The Tesla driver reportedly said he heard the crash, but did not know what had happened until he watched the footage later.

Was following a work van with ladders piled on top, (pretty common).
Had the thought that "what would happen if those ladders came loose?", so I slowed way down and changed lanes just as one of them came flying off the van into where my car would have been.

I-76 near Girard ... The Schuylkill Expressway ...
In Nov. 2024, I was stopped in traffic when a Chrysler Town and Country mini van rear ended me. He was only doing about 35 but his front end went up in flames and soon the entire van was engulfed.
Looks like from a semi. Last I heard those are about two hundred pounds. Ouch.

Damn that would ruin your day. It looked like a truck tire, and it looked like it came over the concrete barrier. Not much the SUV driver could do.
Mrs. Douglaskc and I were driving from South Dakota to western michigan one day and for those who don’t know there is a overpass over a quarry just before hitting Chicago. We’re zipping along and all of sudden there’s a tire a hundred feet up in the air. We kind of slowed down and let it bounce off the road and went down into the quarry. Scary!

I'm assuming the folks who don't maintain their trucks also hire illegals who can't read road signs or speak English. And that the corrupt commie press in the US won't look at that aspect of the situation because it doesn't fit the narrative of news packets they receive from DNC war rooms.
