Dashcam video from a Tesla on Philadelphia's I-76 caught a horrifying moment on camera this week, when a tire barreling down the highway slammed headfirst into a moving car.
The tire is seen in one clip bouncing down the highway median before hitting a Nissan SUV in the left lane.
The car's hood was smashed in, and the impact shattered its windshield.
The tire was launched straight into the air on the busy highway.
It is currently unclear where the tire came from.
It is also unknown whether anybody was injured in the wreck.

The incident happened just after noon near Girard Avenue in West Philadelphia.
The Tesla driver reportedly said he heard the crash, but did not know what had happened until he watched the footage later.

You always got a kick out of that?
God was on my side that day and I somehow missed all the shrapnel, but have consciously stayed aware of, and alert for that possibility every time I get on the road because of that incident.
Probably an illegal Sikh............................
“That was a Nissan Rogue”
No loss.
One the crappiest rental cars I ever had.
Damn, the tire got a second shot at the poor guy.
Buffing. A little here, a little there...
I came close to having that happen when I was 19 and driving on a family vacation through Kansas. I saw the wheel bouncing toward us, as if in slow motion, from the opposite lanes — and so did a semi driver, who pulled ahead of us in the left lane and bounced the wheel off his grill. That pretty much stopped it and it rolled into the median. Thank God for that guy.
Many decades ago I was driving home from work and was stopped at a red light where the street went under an Interstate overpass. It turned green and I started to go (I was alone at the light) but then it immediately changed back to red - not even a yellow. I hit the brakes and sat there and not two seconds later an entire WHEEL - frame and all - came crashing down from the road above and bounced in my lane where my windshield would have been and rolled to the side of the road. To this day I know it was God protecting me. It is still a vivid memory I will never forget.
it wasnt... the story behind it says he got up shortly after but the video is clipped just before he moves to get back up...
Yes!! It’s a classic!! The 3 Stooges are jealous from the grave on that one!!
No, it's Girard Avenue.
A gentleman would be walking on the traffic side of the lady. That being said, that appears to be a fatal impact.
Damn, that probably killed the poor guy.
I hit an intact semi tread in the dark on a curve at 2 in the morning woke me right up. Only took out the front ground effects on my chevy van thought it was a deer.
looks more like a tire from an Airbus than a Semi
That’s nothin. On 95 near the airport years ago a tow truck lost a flywheel from the back of it’s truck and it hit a car going the opposite way and decapitated the driver.
Emphasis on past tense!
“A good driver should have felt that before long it came off.”
LOL !
This is what is on the highways on both sides of the border.
Shit-skin Raghead driving for miles, wheels missing on one side of axle, never noticed and doesn’t care.
