Seas the day.
Plans are being put forward to create the world’s first-ever “floating city,” which would be powered by nuclear energy and have a capacity of 80,000 – dwarfing the finest cruise ships in the world.
Visions of the so-called Freedom Ship have existed since the 1990s, but they have been brought back to life once again – this time under Freedom Cruise Line CEO Roger Gooch, who told the Telegraph, “We feel very confident that we can put this together, but capitalization is key.”
Should it come to reality, the megaship would dwarf anything produced by the likes of Royal Caribbean or Carnival Cruise Line.
A proposed capacity of 80,000 people would dwarf Royal Caribbean’s $2 billion Icon of the Seas, which stands at a maximum of 7,600 guests and 2,350 crew members.

Sounds like a zombie movie setting.
What could possibly go wrong?
Why am i getting visions of the homemade submarine that imploded trying to visit the Titanic??
Couldn’t pay me enough.
Giant floating petri dish.....................
“We feel very confident that we can put this together, but capitalization is key.”
Translation, it would be ridiculously expensive and we don’t have enough money.
This is what Hank Johnson thought Guam was.
This should be marketed to the people who frequent cruise lines.
Luxurious and inexpensive they could fit 11-12 ocean liners worth of passengers onto this single haven for opulence and worry free relaxation.
LOOK! IT’s TAYLOR SWIFT!
Everybody runs to one side of the ship....................
Sounds like a good plot for the next Poseidon Adventure movie!.....................
Let Lando Calrissian run it.
I’m out. 80,000 idiots, half of them drunk, doesn’t sound appealing.
Can we name it Columbia?
In the classic tradition of FR, I did not read the article. Is it to be fixed/anchored in a single location? Or does it travel around the world like a giant inflatable pool raft?
Shhhh Don't give them any ideas.
Surprised it has not already been redone.
Yes I know there was a sequel.
Some of the massive cruise liners are big enough.
For my taste, I’d rather take river cruise down one of the historic European waterways on a small, 80-passenger cruise boat. These seem much classier than Carnival chimpout ghetto ships.
It travels the high seas. Around the world every 2 or 3 years.
Well to be honest I left out the part where it gets sunk

No Freaking Thanks.
