When ‘non-dogmatic’ information becomes FREE & TRANSPARENT it becomes a threat to those who attempt to control the narrative and/or the stable.
When you are awake, you stand on the outside of the stable (‘group-think’ collective), and have ‘free thought’.
"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.
Trust and put faith in yourself.
You are not alone and you are not in the minority.
Difficult truths will soon see the light of day.

Dang, you lucked out big-time. Unleaded regular no-ethanol here was (I think) $4.19/gal today.
OTOH, the only station near my house is right off the turnpike, with no other stations for 8-10 miles. Guess in this case, it’s “location, location, location”.

I worked many years ago, at a local Shell station back when a lot of the stations were franchisee setups. The owner left the books out on the desk so we (at least some of us) could see what the station paid for gas and what we sold it for. 2-3 cents per gallon on self-serve, and once in a while, the Gastown station across the street (speedway now days) would be retailing gas at a couple of cents less than we were paying Shell for it.
We did have a good corner though, so we pumped enough gas that shell would “rebate” 2 cents a gallon back to the station. Had we gone to being an auto-care Shell, there would have been a couple more cent off per gallon, but that would require having higher certification levels for the mechanics, more equipment, and longer open hours.
Anyway, yeah, it is a rare instance where a gas station makes more than a handful of pennies per gallon on gas sales, and seldom will they cut price to lose money unless the market dictates that. And such a move would be a very short term situation or they wouldn’t stay in business.
