1,102,210 views May 12, 2026 Everyone online keeps saying Chinese EVs are cheap knockoffs that could never compete with Tesla, Mercedes, BMW, or the rest of the world. So I flew 9,000 miles to China to see for myself.
From self-driving cars and massive EV factories to battery technology and infrastructure that honestly shocked me, this trip completely changed the way I look at the future of electric cars. I thought I knew what to expect… I was wrong.
We got a behind the scenes look at CATL and the battery tech powering the future of electric cars. EV batteries are changing fast, and CATL is a huge part of why.
We checked out XPeng’s electric cars in China to see what the future of EVs might look like and whether these cars live up to the hype.

There is zero reason to import a Chicom manufactured EVs. Those scumbags ramped up manufacturing to dump their trash on the US market banking on Kamala winning. Their plan B was to dump them in Canada to somehow get around the tariffs and restrictions. They are desperate to unload this crap since the myth of their 300 million person middle class never happened.
Bursting into flames is not an engineering problem, if Chinese I would think it is a feature.
Maybe this ewwtoober should stay there if he is so concerned about junk from Chy- nah.
And acquired by intellectual theft, as well.
welcome to our wonderful digital panopticon, where only the proper guards can watch and profit from us.
I am tired of being tracked everywhere, and it should be my choice.
Most of the Chinese auto industry is owned by the Chinese government. BYD and Geely are the exceptions.
I try so hard.
But auto-incorrect makes me look stupid.
Now my blood pressure is giving me double vision, and when I speak to face to face with people they think I’m stupid too.
So maybe I’ll just go with it and be stupid.
Likely because almost everything China makes is absolute garbage, especially their military hardware.

“what I hear” Who told you?
“EVs will become practical when you have a bunch of easily replaceable batteries in your car.”
Why, CATL makes fast charge as in under 4 min till full with 1000 of those ultra fast cycles until they reach 90% SOH that s HALF of the industry standard of 80% SOH.
These are 1000km packs 1000 charge cycles is 950,000km of life. That’s 560,000+ miles
What car do you own that went 500k miles and still had 90 of its life left. Answer none.
Flat out you don’t know what you are asking for its rubbish and made up in your head.
Actual EV owners know CATL is the world leader on tech they are kicking butts and taking names. My Telsas plural all have SOH of 96% or higher and will as thks rate last into the 300K mile.range till 80% SOH.
This is the 21st century boomers get used to it
Everyone is happy in Potemkin village.
This is the country where they spray paint sticks stuck in the ground so it looks like they planted trees.
Honest has no meaning in China. It is what you can delude people into believing that matters. They have no shame about it, the shame is yours for believing them. They think you should have known better.
nice defense of big China battery
and promoting the 21st century which some suppose to be the Chinese century led by our new China superpower
If you get in your car and the sensor picks up you or a passenger has Covid,,,
A manual transmission.
I try not to buy anything made in a communist h*llhole that is working to take over the world. I don’t care how good it’s supposed to be (it hardly ever turns out to be)...
Ask the Chinese qbout how durable their domestic cars are. Then you’ll have your answer.
(hint: they’re crap)

no secret sources. all public sources. just stuff you read.
,,,
What do your public sources say about Tesla’s vs. Chinese models?
If they are not as safe then, they are decidedly not as good. Duh!
