White House deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller on Tuesday accused the Democrat party of controlling its members through blackmail.
Miller told Fox News host Jesse Watters Tuesday evening that “the real” takeaway from former California Rep. Eric Swalwell’s fall from grace is the Democrats’ blackmail regime.
“Swalwell is a scumbag, he’s a terrible person, the worst of the worst the lowest of the low—the most dishonest,” Miller acknowledged. “The real story here is how the Democrat Party controls its members through blackmail!”
The California Democrat suspended his campaign for governor Sunday and officially resigned from Congress Tuesday amid multiple sexual misconduct allegations, including a former staffer alleging sexual harassment, assault, and rape—claims he denies.
A fifth woman, Lonna Drewes, came forward on Tuesday to publicly accuse Swalwell of drugging, raping, and choking her in a Beverly Hills hotel room in 2018.
Swalwell’s sexual misconduct was an “open secret” in Washington DC and California circles, according to Democrat insiders. Republicans argue that the party only put up with him because he was useful—and by staying in the crowded California governor’s race, making it possible for Republicans to win the primary, he was not being useful to Democrats.
Miller told Watters the Democrat party has “a blackmail file on all of its politicians, and it uses them to leverage and control them until it’s time to release it!”
He added: “That is how sick and twisted the Democrat Party is. That’s the next thread we’ve got to pull out here.”
The House Ethics Committee has launched an investigation and the Manhattan District Attorney is conducting a criminal probe into the sexual assault allegations.
The disgraced congressman also faces a separate federal investigation by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) over allegations that he and his wife, Brittany Watts Swalwell, employed a Brazilian nanny without lawful work authorization from January 2023 to February 2025.
Meanwhile, a California District Attorney’s Office told CNN in a statement Saturday it is “evaluating whether any alleged criminal conduct occurred within” Alameda County, where one of the alleged sexual assaults took place in 2019.
A special election to fill his 14th congressional district seat will be held on August 18, 2026, as announced by Governor Gavin Newsom (D.).
Without question. For the most part, the only people interested in going into politics are egotistical, narcissistic, greedy, utterly corrupt sociopaths. No decent person wants anything to do with them (except for those who need to grease the politicians' palms to get around government obstruction/extortion), and can't imagine having to work with and be around them day in and day out.

Shhhhhh. Because that’s why we haven’t seen much of the Epstein files. It’s not what they contain about Trump (likely nothing), but what they contain about Democrats. Trump is using that to his advantage, and he loses that if the files are made public. IMHO.
I've suspected as much for a long time. I'd even go as far to say you won't get Democrat party support unless they have something to blackmail you with. Whatever method they use they certainly maintain party discipline. Rush specialized in showing how they all push the same talking points.
I’m deliriously happy to see Swalwell resign from Congress. Hopefully he will fade into oblivion and we will never hear his name again and hopefully many democrat office holders will follow him and even a few RINO’s.
That said, Lonna Drewes now comes forward 8 years after the alleged fact and claims she was raped. Maybe she was but maybe she wasn’t. Absent HARD evidence, such as a video tape, or a credible witness, there needs to be a hard statute of limitation on RAPE allegations. If some woman accused your son of rape 8 years later is how you should look at this issue.

I believe all this dirt on Swawell was well known a long time ago - despite Nancy Pelosi claiming two days ago that she “didn’t know a thing about it!” BS!
Swawell was the Democrat front runner and the Republicans would have used the dirt against him as an October surprise when he ran against Hilton, so he had to be eliminated so Steyer could take his place.
