VATICAN CITY — In an escalation of the public feud between the U.S. president and the supreme pontiff of the Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV shared an AI-generated photo of himself dressed as Donald Trump.
After President Trump shared a controversial AI-generated image of himself with overt religious imagery on the heels of bashing the pope, the pontiff retaliated by releasing his own image depicting himself with a distinctly Trump-like appearance and sitting in the Oval Office. Critics immediately bashed the image as being blasphemous.
"This image is highly offensive," one social media user said. "For the pope to blatantly portray himself as President Trump is truly beyond what is acceptable. I'm shocked that the pope would do such a thing. Outrageous."
The image only served to intensify what had already become a heated situation between the two prominent figures, with Trump vowing to retaliate. "My followers will not stand for this disrespect," Trump told reporters. "It's one of my commandments. There shall be no other Trumps before me. Everyone knows this. The pope is out of line here, and there will be consequences. We're already having discussions about regime change in Vatican City, believe me."
At publishing time, Pope Leo XIV had also posted a photo of himself as a hobbit from The Lord of the Rings, prompting an aide to remove the ChatGPT app from the pontiff's phone.
You are refusing to see what is obvious in that picture. Perhaps you are OK with deifying Trump because you believe he is above criticism. I'm not. You be you.

Kroc style...boom like that!
Seriously, the denial of the obvious by posters here is really depressing. FR posters used to be the best and the brightest.
ROFL!!!
Almost every image in that drawing shows something related to the military.
That is what the Red Cross does.
It treats wounded soldiers, of EVERY religious faith, regardless of their religion, on the battle field.
Once again - where is the original art work ?
Does the man in the original art work look like Jesus?
The word you’re looking for is “altar.”
This is a bit off-topic, I know, but nobody knows what Jesus looked like in enough detail for this discussion. There were no cameras when He walked the Earth, and the paintings done centuries later all depicted Him as someone from the artist's own national/ethnic group. We can speculate that he looked Middle-Eastern, likely Semitic, almost certainly not Trump-white-with-blond-hair. He probably dressed in the typical garments of the place and time. Everything beyond that is a guess.
Except Trump being dressed in the manner that Jesus is traditionally dressed and people praying to Trump. Stop wasting my time.
Trump is being politically crucified because of unverified claims that Trump is impersonating a portrait of Jesus Christ.
Until some one finds a link to the original art work, there is ZERO proof that is true.
By the way - I have scanned through at least 500 Red Cross posters trying to find the original.
Perception is reality.
And you be you — again, you see what you want to see. I don’t deify Trump. He has made a lot of mistakes, but I also don’t have a hissy fit for every little thing that comes along. Don’t respond, you aren’t worth talking to.
Show me the original Red Cross poster with Jesus Christ.
I will retract and apologize.
Until then - you are just one more tough talking Troll.
I never claimed there was an "original Red Cross poster". That was Trump's weak excuse. Whether there is one or not is immaterial. The image is clearly bad enough on it's own depicting Trump as Christ.
You know nothing about Red Cross posters.
In the 1950s-1960s, USA schools would compete to get their original Red Cross posters sanctioned by Red Cross.
Trump, who attended military school, would have a clear memory of that.
See my post 54. Repeat as necessary.
An untrue statement. Trump didn’t say anything about a Red Cross poster.
Games? You said it looked like Jesus’ robe. I’m asking you to describe what that robe looked like according to Biblical accounts. You can do that, correct?
