Trump Announces He Will Pause Bombing Campaign Against Iranian Energy Plants for 10 Days — Claims Talks ‘Going Very Well’
Mediaite ^ | March 26, 2026 | Sarah Rumpf

President Donald Trump announced Thursday afternoon a ten-day pause in his threat to order strikes against Iranian energy plants to give more time for the “ongoing” talks to potentially reach a deal.

The strikes against Iran, jointly conducted by the U.S. and Israel, have been controversial. Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in one of the strikes and another hit an elementary school, killing at least 175 people, mostly young girls who were students there. Trump denied responsibility but media reports have shown it was a Tomahawk missile that hit the school, a weapon that only the U.S. has, not Iran or Israel. Oil and gas prices spiked after Iran began launching its own strikes against area nations and closed the Strait of Hormuz.

Last Sunday, Trump had warned Iran that it if did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz, then the U.S. would begin bombing Iran’s energy plants to “hit and obliterate” them, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST!”

Trump’s plan to strike the plants was originally set to expire in 48 hours; he later extended that to Friday.

The president made the announcement about the paused strikes in a post on his Truth Social account, writing:

As per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 P.M., Eastern Time. Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media, and others, they are going very well. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

There are zero negotiations going on. Period.
The Mollahs don’t negotiate. Period.

Mr. President, just tell the Mollahs once again what you have already clearly stated to the world: “Complete and unconditional surrender!”

That’s the ONLY way forward.

This isn't my idea. It is just logic.

Trump and Bibi win the idea of the year...and/or the millennium.

Is this 10 days from now, or 10 days plus the original 48 hours? Or maybe it’s 10 days plus the 5 days he previously extended the deadline.

I never heard President Trump promise “no more regime change”

Here is my evidence. Where is yours?

You can’t negotiate with Islam.

“Remember that Trump dealt with the NYC mafia to build in Manhattan. Iran, the mullahs, the IRGC, the Basij, et al. are child’s play compared to that.”

>>>>>>>>>>>

There is a HUGE difference though...

It’s possible to make deals with the mafia.
It’s impossible to make deals with the Mollah’s of Iran. They NEVER negotiate.
It’s also impossible to walk on water because of the law of physics.

If Trump gains control of the oil and the money, the IRGC will negotiate. The mullahs are dead.

We find people to talk to, then we kill them.

Agree!

The Mullahs don’t fit the “rational actor” model you need for an “Art of the Deal” win-win result.

Exactly, negotiations area total waste of time. Any agreement with the IRGC is not worth the paper it is written on. They would never, ever follow any agreement.

Their plan now is to do anything to delay, delay, delay, and then delay some more—until the democrats can turn public opinion here.

Goal for them is to survive hang on wait until we are politically tired of it. Work for their nuclear Armageddon later. If that happens all this will have to be done again in 10 years if we have the will for it. Meanwhile militant Islam is further invigorated, the moderate states collapse and their infiltration into our societies accelerates.

Why do you think the negotiations are with the IRGC, or what is left of it?

President Trump knows they cannot be trusted. It is why they are being destroyed and rendered irrelevant.

Beccause the only named mentioned thus far is Muhammed Bagher Glalibaf, Iran’s so-called moderate, Speaker of the Parliament—who is a member of the IRGC, and who also happened to be a General with the IRGC.

Anyone other than someone in the IRGC would be killed by the IRGC as soon as his name was made public.

From your source:

NPR, and some MAGA voices) argue this marks a reversal from his “no more wars / no regime change” rhetoric. Supporters and the administration have framed strikes as necessary defensive actions against threats (e.g., nuclear programs, aggression), not open-ended nation-building or boots-on-the-ground occupations. Trump has historically distinguished between quick, overwhelming force for U.S. interests versus prolonged “forever wars.”

You said he never said "no more regime change."

Are you denying he said it?
