The pair met in the Oval Office and fielded questions from reporters, one of whom asked why Washington had not informed Tokyo of its plans to attack Iran.

"We went in very hard. We didn't tell anybody about it because we wanted surprise," he said. "Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn't you tell me about Pearl Harbor."

and...if my recollection is correct, Japan refused to surrender, so they likely knew something was coming.

That something was nuclear, which they wouldn’t/couldn’t have known, of course. No one could know.

Can’t believe what a buffoon he has turned into. When we get annihilated at the midterms, we can all look back fondly on the war in Iran, and all his stupid remarks. It’ll be a great way to have a laugh in a democrat dominated world.

LOL...”Trump” has been mostly a noun, but now we see it as an adjective!!!!

Just wait...we will, if we haven’t already, see it as an adverb!

It is a “Trump Demolition”!

That’s stupid. It’s well known that the failure to inform the US was due to distressingly mundane screwups involving not having a decent typist available on a Sunday morning at the Japanese embassy in Washington and not accounting for the time required to decipher the coded message from Japan instructing them to notify Washington that Japan had declared war.

40+ leaders same day. Of course it was the moment they were waiting for. Get most of the leaders in one the first strike.

If they’d been on time with that, we’d have been getting the declaration of war about the same time as the bombs started falling.

That’s typical Trump. He insult you and then when you been to his will and do what he wants, and then he’ll come out and say.—“ The glorious nation of Japan will be helping us in Hormuz. What a beautiful people. Wonderful people. The best.”

I’m not sure it was actually meant to be a joke. It was more a barb aimed at the press for continuing to ask the same exact question to Trump again and again. I predict that particular question will no longer be asked.

Of course, President Trump is not going to inform anyone outside of a very tight circle of military plans because the information would be leaked immediately destroying any possibility of success.

“A rain of ruin from the air, the like of which has never been seen on this earth.”

-President Harry Truman’s statement on the Hiroshima atomic bombing, August 6, 1945.

Good one President Trump, I don’t think we told them either.

Love him or hate hinm, you have to respect Trump.

The guy literally re positioned our mine sweeping and escort ships out of the gulf to let the countries that use oil from the Persian Gulf as a life line but still give us the middle finger when we asked for their aid in the shipping lanes they rely that we would not be bailing them out this time around.

Plus, every time someone talks about World War II they always talk about how the United States nuked the poor helpless Japanese. Everyone forgets that they attacked us in the middle of the night and you know what? It’s good to remind them of that every now and again.
