That’s stupid. It’s well known that the failure to inform the US was due to distressingly mundane screwups involving not having a decent typist available on a Sunday morning at the Japanese embassy in Washington and not accounting for the time required to decipher the coded message from Japan instructing them to notify Washington that Japan had declared war.
If they’d been on time with that, we’d have been getting the declaration of war about the same time as the bombs started falling.
Doesn’t matter.
