Victor Davis Hanson: What We Were Told About January 6 Doesn’t Add Up
As the fifth anniversary of January 6 approaches, the Left’s carefully constructed narrative is starting to crack.
On today’s episode of "Victor Davis Hanson: In a Few Words," Hanson explains how branding January 6 an “insurrection” drove impeachment efforts, investigations, and years of specifically framed media coverage. He also examines the arrest and confession of Brian Cole Jr., the alleged January 6 pipe bomber, and why the delayed investigation and lingering questions surrounding his background cast doubt on many of the conclusions Americans were first told to accept.
“To sum up everything we've been told about January 6th from the congressional committee to Kamala Harris' description of it, to comparisons with the four-month, $2 billion, 35 dead, 1,500 police officers, prior riots, arson attacks on courthouses, police precincts that was never really mentioned as a comparable crisis in the republic, all of these things, a number of FBI informants, a number of FBI agents, any effort to find the pipe bomber, the treatment of the January—it was all never transparent. We never got the honest story. So, that begs the question, why? Why didn't they just come out and say, "Here's all the information"? And the reason is, they wanted to cement a narrative in everybody's mind that a reckless demonstration that turned into a riot was a pre-planned insurrection by Donald Trump, who ordered it, and therefore, should forfeit his political career, and he should never be allowed to run for office.”

He's consistently maintained that Biden won the 2020 election legitimately through garnering more votes than Donald Trump.
I don't know if the doctor's near-death experience somehow altered his perspective but I'm grateful for it...even if it took years to get there.
Aside from that, remember the democrats surrounded the Capitol with a chain link fence for a year or two after that?
And Republicans just accepted it.

It was an elaborate plan, mostly Nancy Pelosi’s, to circumvent the formal objection to certification she knew was coming from Senator Cruz and others. President Trump underestimated the depths of Democrat’s underhanded tactics, having his rally turned as a tool against him.
I’m surprised only two protesters died during the entire debacle - one assassinated (Babbitt) and one squashed in the tunnel crush.

This subject, like 9-11-2001, causes me to lose rationality and self-control over rage.
Pelosi met with the Parliamentarian ahead of Jan 6 and changed the rules on certification voting.
She held meetings with a group of people at Camp David, iirc. I believe they war gamed the event, which included refusing 45’s request for troops.
I imagine 45’s tardiness in speaking gummed up their timeline.
And up till now nothing has happened to the guy who murdered Babbitt. I don’t expect anything to happen to him in the future. Just another LEO who has gotten away with murder.
I suspected from day one it was a Nanzi propaganda production. The only thing that surprised me was the FBI involvement. I suppose I still had some respect for them
The full story’s slowly emerging in dribs and drabs but the full picture WILL emerge. I’m only sorry that a few of the guilty will face judgement from the Creator before getting what they deserve while still on this Earth.
This Dem-sponsored activity on January 6th describes a form of political assassination and must be viewed as such.
Now that President Trump has addressed the Venezuelan drug flow into America, he must plan to make headlines again by physically arresting--with many news photos--and summarily prosecuting the top Democrat power figures who planned his political assassination.
The weeks or months leading up to the 2026 mid-terms would be most appropriate.
One death in the Capitol was all the Evil One needed to call her emergency session, and stifle debate.

He’s right. Biden did get more votes. The question is whether there were that many actual living voters. The whole J6 thing was a setup to scare off the ten Senators that were going to contest the certification and it worked.

one thing it convinced me was that Nancy Pelosi and her daughter have connections to antifa. Nancy Pelosi’s district is a hotbed for antifa activity in California.
I don’t know if it’s that Hanson lives in the Sea of Blue called Southern California or if it’s that his professional circle is primarily Leftist academicians; he’s said in several columns and videos that he couldn’t believe the American system could be so skewed as to allow someone steal the nation’s highest office - therefore more people voted for Biden than Trump in 2020. Not that they liked Biden but bought into the media’s relentless warfare on the President (a pretty valid reasoning).
It says a lot when 40% of Democrats now believe that election was stolen. The same poll found many of those thought that was okay considering the outcome.
Proving they shouldn’t be allowed to vote and their party is no better than organized criminals.
Note that Pelosi’s daughter and film crew recorded Nancy all that day of all days.
And why not? Pelosi was absolutely the most powerful person in the country pulling off the greatest scam in American history - so her ego demanded that the event be recorded for posterity.

Pelosi also signed off on Obama’s legitimacy to run for President in the first place.
