* Mercedes is offering up to $50K off select 2025 EVs to clear inventory.
* Maybach EQS 680 sees record discounts rarely offered on new models.
* EQS, EQE, GLB, and G580 models also qualify for significant incentives.
=======================================================================
If you’ve been eyeing a new Mercedes EV, now might be the moment to polish up your negotiation skills. The German automaker is rolling out a wave of generous incentives across several of its plug-in models, deals so strong they make the recently scrapped federal EV tax credit look like pocket change. For one in particular, the savings climb past $50,000.
The model getting the royal treatment is the 2025 Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680, available with substantial discounts whether purchased or leased. Granted, it’s hardly an everyday commuter choice, as it appeals mostly to the ultra wealthy with a starting price of around $181,000 in the States.
Still, a $50,000 cut brings it within roughly $20,000 of a GLS 63 AMG, which suddenly makes the ultra-luxury EV seem, if not attainable, at least comparatively reasonable. For reference, the upcoming 2026 EQS 680 also qualifies for a $23,000 incentive.
EV Deals Beyond the Maybach
It’s not just Maybach shoppers with big bank accounts that can benefit from the generous savings. Regular 2026 Mercedes-Benz-branded EQS sedan and SUV models are available with a discount of up to $10,000 when purchased or $10,500 when leased.
According to CarsDirect, Mercedes-Benz is also providing $9,500 in dealer cash for customers leasing a new GLB, or $9,000 for those choosing to buy. Meanwhile, the all-electric EQE sedan and SUV qualify for a $7,500 lease incentive and $7,000 when purchased.
Mercedes Slashes Prices By Up To $50,000 As EV Inventory Piles Up And the offers don’t stop there, as Mercedes is even knocking $5,000 off for anyone leasing an electric G580
Curiously, many of these offers aren’t being widely promoted by Mercedes-Benz. Prospective buyers will need to find a dealership willing to honor the unadvertised deals, which might involve some digging, or perhaps simply a bit of persistence.
The motivation behind these incentives likely ties to the brand’s desire to get rid of any remaining 2025 inventory quickly. It could also be an attempt to keep EV sales momentum after the federal electric vehicle tax credit was dropped about six weeks ago.
Eventually, they won’t be able to GIVE them away.
Not even my ex-wife spends money like that. LOL
This EV market bloodbath can’t be what it seems.
I don’t give a crap about the cars. The model x is neat but everything else is just more modern day garbage.
What I have been following is the Livewires inventory. I buy bikes based on one thing - looks. The Livewire 1 is a beautiful bike, and I want it.
I understand that they are making them, but only selling about 25 of them a year. Taking a bath. I also hear that the prices are dropping.
So I’ve done this “negotiating” things at the dealership. Mind you, in personal friends with the owner of the dealership. They are willing to come down about 5k on the 30k price tag.
All these articles make it sound like they are now affordable but I have yet to see that reality.
The SAVINGS climb past $50,000? I want to pay that much for a new car!
Bureaucratic Idiots throughout American history have caused more public harm than imaginable.
I follow several car people YT channels, and the common theme is that the companies complaining about sales have only themselves to blame. Prices are far too high.
The second best selling car model in the world is a Tesla Model Y.
There is no EV in the world that can compete with the Model Y.
Oh and the Model 2’s will arrive shortly. The prices are $16,000 for the regular and $25,000 for the extended range model
They will hit the crusher with 2 miles on the odometer.
The Maybach EQS 680 costs $180,000 to $200,000. You’d have to be insane to buy one of them even with a $50,000 discount.
That is total vaporware BS.
Or I could buy a used Corolla, low mileage, for less than 20 Grand ...
but that wouldn’t signal my virtue ...
Rush owned a Maybach...................
This! ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑
“but that wouldn’t signal my virtue...”
That’s what bumper stickers splashed all over the vehicle are for.
Somewhat misleading to call the $50,000 “savings” when you still have to fork out $131,000 for a depreciation power diving EV with an even shorter range than the plain Mercedes version.
But not an electric ⚡️one. My Florida next door neighbor’s wife has a Maybach minivan. Not electric. Tiger I and Tiger II tanks all had Maybach engines.
Insertion of government connected middlemen and associated skimmers ain’t cheap in making something more affordable.
Bigtime business opportunity for manufacturers of diesel charging trailers.
I’ll park it next to my Yugo
