Overall a Horrible Election Day. What Happened?

We apparently are not on a roll with some kind of conservative momentum. Leftist Democrats of the worst kind made inroads into political power yesterday.

— NYC elects a radical Muslim. — Virginia threw out all reason and elected radical leftists to the Governorship and Attorney General, who had made violent threats. — Democrats flipped two red seats in MS breaking the Republican supermajority. — in my neck of the woods, Texas senate district 9 is going to a run-off after a DEM bested two Republicans for a plurality of votes.

This was surprising as the polling place I revisited was packed to the gills in an off-off-year election in a conservative area. Overall, there were no spectacular Republican victories to make inroads into Democrat comtrol. I don’t think this bodes ill for the 2026 mid-terms.

If the Senate refuses to nix the fillibuster, you can kiss ‘26 goodbye, too.

Same thing happened to Ronald. Big win draws out more lukewarm opposition voters on the next congressman election, while the backers of the new President in the General Election stay at home or at work or off on a vacation or business trip, thinking that voting for a Rep is just a minor thing, not to worry about.

WRONGLY!

Local school board elections have more impact on peoples’ lives than presidential elections. But so few people understand that.

This is how the Left has crept in and taken over all of our institutions. And good luck fumigating them out.

It is kinda hard to ignore the New Jersey polls when we had dozens of threads about them here.

Congrats if you were able to do it.

The theory behind running as a moderate in the Republican Party is that a candidate will gain some independents and even some old school Democrats while retaining the MAGA base. Unfortunately, that strategy does not always work. Take Ocean County, NJ, arguably the most conservative county on the East Coast east of the Piedmont and north of North Carolina. Ciatrelli won by a big margin (67-32)but he received 45,000 fewer votes than Trump. The gap between Kamala Harris last year and Sherill this year was only 17,000. In Hudson County, NJ, a very liberal county and the de facto six borough of New York City, Sherill bettered the Democrat margin to 74-24, vs. Harris at 62-34. Sherill received 24,000 fewer votes than Harris but Ciatrelli received 40,000 fewer votes than Trump.

Ciatrelli's poor showing may be attributed to portions of the MAGA base staying home plus the AWFUL wing of Democratic voters coming out in droves to support abortion, sexual perversion, and cross-dressers and to strike a blow against Orange Man Bad worse than Hitler and Jack the Ripper combined.

This is a warning bell! 2026 will see the Democratic Socialists win the House back and set up the new impeachment hearings against Trump and all things Trump. He will be unable to do anything the last two years-—He must do what he can now as 2026 will be a year of riots and burning cities. Democrats are on a roll and they will break every rule to make New York look good as a Marxist State. Free this and free that—a utopia Gotham—for a time.

Wait for more assassinations and bombs—the voice of the left. The Democratic-Socialists are masters of deception and did good work turning Trump into a cartoon tyrant—an evil Bond Villain (without the cat). The No King “7 Million” march was a good investment.

Well... Youngkin didnt legalize cannabis products and Sears was released into the wind to fend for herself. Virginny is a blue state afterall. Totally blue now, From governor on down. Most rural areas are red but they’re disenfranchised and the populated urban areas don’t give a rip.

The blues will abort themselves out if existence and the sexualites will all die from STD related illnesses. Trust God no matter what. Legalize all drugs and watch...

The theory behind running as a moderate in the Republican Party is that a candidate will gain some independents and even some old school Democrats while retaining the MAGA base.

That only works in Rust Belt states, to be frank.

New Jersey is a terrible place for a MAGA candidate. I had a long discussion here on FR some years ago with a Freeper who lived in the same House district in New Jersey as me. He proudly boasted that he never voted for the "RINO" Republican in that House seat, and was thrilled when the guy retired and was replaced on the next ballot by a "MAGA" Republican in the next (2018) election.

The MAGA Republican promptly lost, and a House seat in a region that had been held by Republicans for more than 100 years became a solid Democrat seat ever since then.

Oh -- and that Democrat who won in 2018 is now the governor-elect of New Jersey.

Running a MAGA candidate in a wealthy New Jersey suburb dominated by voters who work primarily in health care, education, finance/banking and big pharmaceutical firms is beyond retarded.

He should stop worrying about getting a Peace Prize and focus on domestic issues.

If the Republicans were a football team, the coach would be fired after the results yesterday. But it takes more than just firing the coach to change things. If President Trump is a political version of Jerry Jones, doubling down on failure patterns, the Democrats will flip the House even if Republican states like Texas, Florida, and Ohio gerrymander their Congressional districts. If he learns from the disaster and focuses on domestic issues, the GOP will win.
