Sherrill, Ciattarelli tied in New Jersey governor’s race: Poll

The New Jersey governor’s race between Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.) and former state Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli (R) is tied, according to a new poll.

A new Emerson College Polling/PIX11/The Hill survey released on Thursday found both Sherrill and Ciattarelli receiving 43 percent, with a separate 11 percent undecided — underscoring how the race has tightened in the final stretch before the November election.

The poll, which was released days after the first debate between the two candidates, is sure to raise alarms for Democrats, who are looking to beat back a Republican effort to flip the governor’s mansion after President Trump made inroads in the state last year. It also comes despite Democrats seeing a number of high-profile special election victories in red states this year, most notably Iowa.

Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, noted in a press release that Sherrill performs better with women voters, while the former New Jersey assemblyman performs better among men.

“A stark gender divide also emerges among Garden State voters: women break for Sherrill by ten points, 46% to 36%, while men break for Ciattarelli by 12 points, 51% to 39%,” the Emerson College Polling executive director said. “Notably, women are over twice as likely to be undecided at 15% compared to 6% of men.”

They will be counting votes for six months trying to give the RAT the instant win.

Perhaps, but the trend is your friend and the Republican is trending higher. That plus Republicans having an advantage with undecided may make this election too big to steal

There was some “internal” poll for the Jack Chat campaign a few days ago which showed the race suddenly being close.

It’s good to know that it actually wasn’t a complete outlier poll, as it appeared to be.

There still seems to be little true enthusiasm for the Republican candidate, but simply NOT being a hateful, violent, murderous Democrat ought to be good for a few points in the polls with sane voters, and if Ciattarelli can hold this momentum (or, better yet, build on it) then he’s got a chance.

Of course the NJ vote counters are extremely adept and experienced at Democrat vote fraud, but if we’re ever going to overcome that then this is the year.

In New Jersey a Republican has to win by over six points on election day to overcome the systemic Democratic fraud in Hudson, Pasaic,Essex, Union, Middlesex and Mercer counties.

“over six points”

This is New Jersey.

We can be precise.

A 6.66% margin is required.

Lol.

The way the democrats wet themselves when they hold a democrat seat in a deep blue state and call it a “trend” I wonder how they would spin it if they lost the governorship of New Jersey.

The R needs a 6 point lead minimum to beat the cheat.

Yup—that was a classic steal.

The Democrats just kept counting votes in their tightly controlled precincts until they won.

They enjoy playing those games in CT when necessary as well.

If they are really tied now, doesn’t that mean the momentum is leaning toward the GOP, because the Dim previously had a much bigger lead???
