Boys enter kindergarten lagging behind girls in both academic readiness and behavior. A majority of teenagers agree that boys are more disruptive...girls get better grades, have more leadership roles and speak up more in class.

In interviews, young men say that school never felt like a good fit for them, or that they got the sense that teachers didn’t like boys, and that this left them feeling discouraged or undervalued. By high school, girls are more likely to graduate on time — and more likely to go to college.

Young men are struggling in their mental health and transitions to adulthood, too. What’s going on here? I’m reporting a series on boys, the first installment of which published today. I’d love to hear your experiences... Tell The Times what you think here. — Claire Cain Miller

Every ad shows a stupid, cowardly cuck dad/boyfriend/sperm donor.
Said person just goes along, telling the kids and the significant other: Oh you are all great! When they suck.
Man-hating DEI females in authority in the workplace and school are the rule rather than the exception.
Absent male parents, or dads too wimply to beat the kids and send them to their room. For 24 hours, not one hour.
Lastly, cuck rock and roll songs with squealing wimp singers like Mraz and Mayer. Worthless nematodes. The lyrics: Oh girl you are great, I am so worthless, I am a wimp. Sickening.
Picking a nit... We have the same number of ribs. Jus’ ‘cause Adam gave one up doesn’t mean the rest of us did too...
It's not "withholding"; there's nothing being held back.
As for "a disastrous formula for society", it's quite the opposite: Giving respect to people who haven't earned it elevates overgrown children, celebrities, actors, actresses, politicians, bureaucrats, race hustlers, pornographers, propagandists, con artists, perverts, transvestites, criminals, groomers, sociopaths, etc. all under "respect for others".
As for the inherent human worth, start with the mirror and don't disrespect yourself by giving undeserved respect to people who not only haven't earned it, go out of their way continuously trash it.
(And I have no idea what ‘contraception’ has to do with something that’s always been true.)

Neither do I. Perhaps Daniel can explain.
That has nothing to do with respect. That is corrupt and misguided adulation.
Go back to basics.
Furthermore, males have a shorter life expectancy, greater morbidity from most diseases, and increased rates of alcoholism, drug abuse, incarceration, suicide, accidental death, murder, and depression, all signs of an oppressed minority.
Boys without fathers tend to grow up without physical discipline and become 8 year olds for life.
The 'simpademic' was in full swwing decades before that.
'Heartbreaker' by Led Zeppelin
One thing I do have on my mind
If you can clarify, please do
It's the way you call me another guy's name
When I try to make love to you, yeah
Mm, work so hard I couldn't unwind
Get some money saved
Abuse my love a thousand times
However hard I tried
'Bargain' by The Who
I'd gladly lose me to find you
Gladly give up all I got
To catch you, I'm gonna run and never stop
I'd pay any price just to win you
Surrender my good life for bad
To find you, I'm going to drown an unsung man
I'd call that a bargain
The best I ever had
I sit looking 'round
I look at my face in the mirror
I know I'm worth nothing without you
'Hey Hey What Can I Do?' by Led Zeppelin
In the evening, when the sun is sinking low
Everybody's with the one they love
I walk the town
Keep a-searching all around
Looking for my street-corner girl
I got a woman, want to ball all day, yeah
I got a woman, she won't be true, no, no
I got a woman, stay drunk all the time
I said, I got a little woman, and she won't be true
Girls without fathers become 8-year-olds for life but let's not mention that.
In my experience, girls were, on average, better students than boys. Thus the higher grades. The few really brilliant math students, however, were mostly boys.
The valedictorian and salutatorian were both girls in my graduating class in high school. In college, top two were guys. Maybe we improve in college.
I think one of the bad things for boys was combining them with girls in classrooms. Both sexes develop in different areas at different times - a girl is generally ready to handle a pencil, for instance, sooner than a boy is.
This causes problems for both, because there will naturally be periods in development when the boy excels, and vice versa.
I think we should go back to all girl and all boy classrooms.
In 1980 in my graduating class, our top 10 were evenly split between men and women. Our valedictorian and salutatorian were both women.
We had AP and Advanced classes that could boost your GPA. A’s were equal to 5 points, not the regular 4. It wasn’t enough to get straight A’s, you had to take the right classes.
Band, Chorus, Orchestra, PE, Typing, Home Economics, Shop, etc., would only get you 4 points for an A. So if you were “well-rounded” you were not going to be ranked high in the class. I had pretty close to straight A’s for all 4 years, but because I was in band, I ended up 23rd out of 444.
So basically if you were going for an Ivy League school or Service Academy, you were better off not being in any extra-curricular activities. They said they were looking for well rounded students, but if you weren’t in the top ten of your class, well, they didn’t even consider you.
All this to say that public schools have been messed up for quite a while when it comes to measuring achievement and scholastic ability. According to the seniors I just spoke to, girls are pushed into college and if you are a guy - unless you are a super-genius science or math whiz - they are now pushing you into the trades.
I predict that in another decade colleges will be 80% female with men attending only in the hard sciences and engineering.
Exactly.
Boys have an entirely different learning style, yet they are forced to sit in the classroom of a female teacher and are punished for not acting like a girl.
On top of it,they are told that females are superior and males are defective and dangerous.
LOL!
(I had given ‘Sentinel’ the benefit of the doubt, and assumed he was kidding, or trying to speak metaphorically, or...something.)
Three legs bad. Two legs good.
Most likely... But... just in case. :-)
FReegards.
bump
contraception .. that was my initial thought.
Contraception existed in the early 60s, but was unreliable.
The vast majority of boys assumed they would be the money provider when they grew up.
I went to Viet Nam in 66. The pill was unreliable. I came back Christmas Eve 67 and all young women in Chicago were on the pill. It was sold reliable. In reality it wasn’t, which increased the demand for abortion and acceptance of abortion and commonplace.
In ‘68 women were openly taking the pill in front of a group of men and obviously advertising...I’m free...I’m available.
We no longer saw the traditional roles. Those roles were destroyed with nothing new to replace them.
* * *
But I would like to see a breakdown by practising religous, by traditional family,by blended family, by single parent family, and by other factors and see if there are patterns.
One example... Boys in gradeschool act like .... well boys.
They are diagnosed AHDD, etc and given pills. Those boys have a higher percentage of seeking solutions in pills and “medicines” as young men. Relatively speaking, those not given pills for AHDD when young do not seek the pills when they are older as the solution to the problems they have.
You nailed it.
