Welp, it looks like Trump is going to reopen Alcatraz.
This dude's not messing around. He wants to send our worst criminals out to "The Rock" in the San Francisco Bay.

I'll give you some details on Alcatraz. But first, just look at the place:

And it's one of the most inescapable prisons on the planet.
Sure, you can get out, but how are you going to get to shore through those gnarly currents?

It will never reopen as a prison is my prediction.
I nominate Hillary Clinton as the first inmate.
It will have to operate like El Salvador’s prison, with the same restrictions and security. Plus it will need to be completely renewed and reinforced.

SF is a cesspool. That said, Alcatraz is a big tourist attraction now. Not fit for actual housing inmates unless it was torn down and rebuilt from scratch. Why? Put a new prison in the Aleutian or Rat Islands in AK
Just a diversion to keep the media and Dems dizzy.
Aren’t there lots of places this could be duplicated with fresh, new modern methods and technology construction, and with hostile surroundings from Alaskan islands to Death Valley?
Are the escape difficulties that were so insurmountable almost 100 years ago still in the same status today, are cold water and currents still the end all security concerns of today and the next 50 years in advanced modern prison escapes from the crime elites?
Alcatraz is a crumbling wreck. It will cost far more to construct a functioning prison there than starting from scratch in a desolate area in the middle of California.
I thought it was sacred Native American land, or something.
I nominate Obama as the first. Or, he and Hillary could share a cell which would be fun to watch.

A new prison could be built in some remote are for a lot less expense.
Build it on federal land somewhere.
Of course, but staffing would be a problem.
Nobody wants to live in those places. Whereas SF and Marin County is a fairly pleasant area, if you watch your step..............

This is a brilliant move by President Trump. Not sure that they will ever actually reopen the prison but the PR will be off the charts
