Little Bags of Chips
Chickensoup | Chickensoup

Posted on 05/04/2025 9:07:45 AM PDT by Chickensoup

At the store today for the first time saw SINGLE SERVING chip bags for sale.

160 calories per bag.

Kennedys influence is already present in the stores.

We have not seen these sizes fire sale individually in stores in 30 to 40 years

How have you never seen those before? I suggest you find a better store. I’ve never not seen the “lunch box” size.

I’m not sure where you shop, but they have been making single serving chips for years. Kids take them to school every day.

Lance chips are outstanding ... and are hard to find. They usually come in single serving or small bags.

Mom recently told me that when she was little (1950’s) there was a miniature loaf of bread. Typical white, like Wonder Bread or Taystee. It was not much bigger than two or three hot dog buns and to this day she doesn’t know why they made them.

Yes but one could only buy the package of 6 or 12 servings.

This was a one serving package for sale.

Never seen here.

I usually see them in a convenience store or a place like Subway that does not do fries.

I bet they made them for single people who could not go through a loaf. Few or no preservatives back then.

Why not save money, buy a larger bag of chips and exercise self control?

Not for sale as a single serving to purchase with a drink in the store.

Not around here

Yeah. In the impulse section. And in convenience stores. They are a standard item. Have been for decades.

Anytime I pick up a sandwich at Jimmy Johns I grab a bag of potato chips (one serving) ... sea salt/vinegar are my favorite.

When I was a kid there was a family in the neighborhood whose father worked at a local commercial bakery. He used to hand out those little loaves of white bread on Halloween instead of candy. We loved those things. This was in the 1980s.
