It is noon in Washington on Saturday, January 20, 2029. Inauguration Day. A bearded man steps forward in front of the US Capitol and raises his right hand, placing his left on the Bible.
'I, James David Vance, do solemnly swear...'

That’s fine, but who’s going to clean up the mess?

stupid premise
Your right. Its quite simple. 12 Amendment still applies. But these people are crazy.
It totally captured the moment. I love seeing how much Usha loves and adores her husband, and what she has watched him accomplish in their young lives. Truly remarkable.
Every so often a thread like this is posted.
Completely oblivious to the facts that Trump will be dead and gone by then.
What’s the point?
12th Amendment
The Twelfth Amendment to the United States Constitution, ratified on June 15, 1804, changed the process for electing the president and vice president. It required electors to cast separate votes for the president and vice president, rather than voting for two candidates for president without distinction. This amendment was proposed to address issues that arose during the 1800 election, where the original system led to a tie between Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr, necessitating a resolution by the House of Representatives.
Under the Twelfth Amendment, if no candidate receives a majority of electoral votes for president, the House of Representatives chooses from the three candidates with the most votes, while the Senate chooses the vice president from the two candidates with the most votes for that office.
The amendment also specifies that electors cannot vote for both a president and vice president who are inhabitants of the same state as themselves, to prevent any one state from having undue influence.
This change helped to streamline the election process and prevent the kinds of political conflicts that had occurred in previous elections.
The Twelfth Amendment took effect for the 1804 presidential election and has governed all subsequent presidential elections.
The way to get around the 22nd, would be not Donald Trump running as VP, but the VP stepping down, as Spiro Agnew did, and Nixon picking Gerald Ford as his VP without requiring a new election. Vance then selects Trump as his VP to replace his original running mate who had stepped down. Could this even be challenged? Then Vance steps down, and Trump starts his third term.
Let's keep in mind that this is presented in chit chat.
I posted it for the entertainment of watching liberals heads reacting in panic, along with the never-Trumpers.
I seriously doubt that Trump would even want to run again.
I just found it interesting that this is even being discussed.
It’s mental junk food...................
Yep. I doubt Trump himself would even support this, even if he'll use it to troll the libs and send them into a rage.
Anyhow, if MAGA isn't designed to survive Trump, then of what use was it?
Then a President Trump 3 could appoint the former President to be the Vice President. This would require a majority vote from both chambers of Congress.

You missed a key part of the 12th Amendment. It’s at the very end, and is pretty straightforward.
“But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”
——
By the way, it’s good that you posted this in chat. It’s not breaking news, of course. Nevertheless, it’s an interesting topic to discuss.
Pure click-bait.
No candidate can stand for or serve as VEEP unless constitutionally eligible to serve as POTUS. Which means no 2-term POTUS can serve as VEEP after leaving office.
If this were not the case, Musk — who is not by any stretch a natural-born American — could stand for VEEP and acceded to POTUS is the sitting POTUS should die or resign.
> A simpler method would be for the House of Representatives to select Trump to be the Speaker, and then both the President and Vice President resign. <
Clever thinking there! But there is one hitch. The Presidential Succession Acts of 1886 and 1947 both stipulate that anyone in the line of succession must be constitutionally eligible for the presidency.
If they aren’t, they’re skipped over.
Okay. I wasn't aware that our Lord was a member of FR. How will DJT's life come to an end, just out of curiosity?
Welcome BTW, care to share other important information with us?
This is not a thread, this is an article that was just released. I though it deserved some attention. Because I had a vision of liberal heads exploding around the entire planet, as I read this.
I thought it was, along with being amusing as well. 😁
No reflection on you Robert, but his thread is a perfect example of mental masturbation.
That is my favorite meme of his! It starts in 2024 to!
If Vance was elected POTUS, the chance that he would resign for an 82 year old DJT is slim and none. For one thing, it would ruin his chances of being elected POTUS ever again.
Nope. It can not be so.
Vice President qualifications are the same as for the President.
Robert DeLong wrote: “Could it be so?”
This BS comes around every few months. In order for a person to run for the VP, that person must be qualified to be President. Clearly, Trump would not be so qualified.
Heck, some people here think that the NBC (Natural Born Citizen) requirement is not longer relevant That merely being born here makes that person a natural born citizen, and is thus eligible for the office of the Presidency or the Vice President.
One who even claims to work at the State Dept. argued that point with me.
