I heard that guy say something about, “Sun-gazing.” I stopped listening right there and realized that this was all a big joke.....or maybe he is simply a fool! ;-)
What are Light Rabbits?
There are actually sometimes good uses for the heat that incandescent bulbs give out. And in a cold living environment they can even be 100% efficient.
real flush toilets,
BAAAAAA-WOOOOOOSH!
there’s a glorious light at the end of the rabbit hole
With you on that... Born in 1961. The standard of living for we in the Middle Class was quite different. That standard included an economy in which the running of a household did not require that both husband and wife work. Early years for me were in suburbia, here in Calif. Looking back, it’s heartbreaking and beyond outrageous how far we’ve fallen. Our neighborhood was packed with kids who all knew and played with each other constantly. I can think of only one friend whose mother worked. Homes were safe zones for all kids, all the mothers had license to discipline, and somehow we all seemed to end up with a bologna sandwich at someone’s house around lunchtime. Nobody was rich, and nobody cared. Nobody went on glamorous vacations, kids had chores and allowances. I peaked at 50c a week. Chores were: washing all dishes daily with my sister, landscape maintenance, handling all aspects of garbage, keeping the house warm with our fireplace (included hauling and splitting wood...), feeding the dogs, and participating in our once a week laundry/housecleaning extravaganza. Just the usual suburban stuff. Now the norm would seem to be both parents working, kids being shuttled around constantly, Instagram documented exotic vacations, housecleaners, landscape maintenance crews, new cell phones for everyone, and zero responsibility for the children/young adults.
Remember those curly CFL bulbs that the government pushed a few years ago for all the same reasons as they now push LED bulbs? Those CFL bulbs also gave crappy light, didn’t last as long as promised, but also contained toxic mercury making them a serious environmental hazard if broken or disposed in landfills. Another case of I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.
