Next EO should be the return of incandescent lightbulbs, real flush toilets, and high (normal) flow shower heads.

Does this also mean we’re bringing back the cathode ray tube? I miss the days it took 2 or 3 people to move a television.

I miss the Sansui 1000 tube amp and stereo system my oldest brother left to me when he died at a young age. Wish I still had it. That and my parents Magnavox stereo console.

Was too young to realize I was growing up in a golden, more civilized age.

I must have a 20 year supply of incandescent bulbs.

Wish I had more of the variable 30/70/100 type though.

My dad had something very similar to that. A classic. Don’t know whatever happened to it.

I think we had the same one, right down to the sticker inside.

When you heard the Statler Brothers you had to flee the house because when the polka music came on with the next record then Ma was going to start dancing and grab you as a partner whether you wanted to or not.

I wish you were right, since they use about 10% of the electricity, but they still burn out. The reason may be that they are garbage made in China.

But, the cool thing is that you can drop them and break the bulb to bits and they still work!

We used to have one of those in my parent’s living room in New Jersey - Magnavox. It was there that I learned my first lesson in physics - gravity is universal. And as a toddler, I also discovered that human flesh is no match for a mahogany cabinet. Twelve stiches at age 18 months is a small price to pay for a lifetime of knowledge.

L.E.D. bulbs are wonderful IF you get the ‘bright white’ variety. The ‘warm’ or “Sunlight’ versions suck because they look like incandescent/tungsten bulbs with that disgusting orange hue.

Today’s flush toilets are can be re-engineered so that they will be ‘real flush toilets. ** wink wink **.....

.....as can be the shower heads. ** another wink wink **

However, it does take some imagination and ingenuity. I have been doing all of the above for years.

I can live with losing one bulb out of over 50 in a five year span.

Especially since most are in high ceilings.
