He doesn’t need more cowbell.

“Saturday Night Live’s” iconic “more cowbell” sketch starring Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken gets a behind-the-scenes deep dive in a new documentary – and Ferrell reveals that Walken isn’t such a fan.

In the Peacock documentary “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night” (premiering Jan 16), Ferrell, 57, recalled how Walken, 81, starred in a play several years after that famous “SNL” sketch.

“I went to see [Walken] backstage, and he’s like, ‘You know, you’ve ruined my life … every show, people bring cowbells for the curtain call and bang them. It’s quite disconcerting,'” Ferrell revealed.

Neither. She was drunk and fell overboard. Happens all the time.

Oops, I knew I was forgetting one. You have to crack your voice occasionally. That’s all I think.

Right.

She was going to leave Wagner.

Wagner has a reputation for being a colossal dick!

Who do you think is a more likely murderer: Robert Wagner or Christopher Walken?

Look what Walken did to Nathalie Wood

You not only missed the humor in this article, but you also plugged in the wrong person into the Natalie Wood story line.

I didn't miss the humor, I added to it.

Who seems more like a killer to you: Christopher Walken or Robert Wagner?

Wagner and Natalie were known for being big time alcoholics. Rocking boats and alcohol don’t mix.

That entire generation was the same way, I call them the Den Martin generation. Booz and cigarettes were the coin of the realm and every table had an ashtray

Most died young but boy did they know how to party.

Ferrell should be careful. Look what Walken did to Nathalie Wood.

I believe it was Robert Wagner.

Yeah. Besides, it was Walken that kept ad-lobbing in the skit. He wasn’t supposed to do it that many times. That’s why the regulars were cracking up.

“More Cowbell” was great, but if you’ve never seen it, check out Walken in “Colonel Angus returns” which is my personal favorite skit ever on SNL.

“Cannot stand Will Ferrell. I think he’s an idiot who totally fits his idiot roles. I avoid any of his stuff anywhere on the TV.”

He’s also a rabid Hollywood leftist.

BOC loves it. The song charted again right after that sketch. They say there were a couple years there where some annoying fans brought cowbells sometimes and things would get not great. But that passed and the sketch lives forever and it makes them not only a part of rock history but comedy history.

Ditto. Along with Adam Sandler & Jim Carrey. Ben Stiller is marginally funny.

The only movie I liked Carrey in was "The Number 23" and the only reason was that it was a straight dramatic role with none of his usual ham.

What’s the opposite of Christopher Reeves?

Christopher Walken. (/old joke)

I liked Walken in the recurring SNL skit “The Continental”.

Just watched the fight scene in the new Dune, thought it could have used more cowbell.

Dune: Part Two: Christopher Walken joins the cast as Emperor Shaddam IV in Villeneuve's sci-fi sequel
