BOC loves it. The song charted again right after that sketch. They say there were a couple years there where some annoying fans brought cowbells sometimes and things would get not great. But that passed and the sketch lives forever and it makes them not only a part of rock history but comedy history.

They were shocked at first, did eventually laugh and then had to graciously learn to put up with it for a while.
