Pfizer’s chief executive Albert Bourla decamped with his top management team to Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort for an off-site meeting, in the latest attempt by corporate America to ingratiate itself with the US president-elect.
Bourla arrived with several members of his executive leadership in Palm Beach, Florida, on Monday evening, according to flight records and two people familiar with the matter.
Pfizer’s executive team was using Mar-a-Lago for a planning meeting over several days, the people said. While there was no scheduled meeting between Bourla and Trump, the pair were likely to interact and the choice of venue was another example of outreach from the pharmaceutical industry to Trump, a person familiar with the meeting said.
Pharma executives have been bracing for the appointment of vaccine sceptic and former independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr and his allies to run the US health department and its powerful agencies, such as the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Bourla, who worked closely with the Trump administration on the development of a Covid-19 vaccine, has been leading the charge to cosy up to the president-elect.
He met Trump at Mar-a-Lago in the run-up to November’s election, and then was instrumental in organising a December dinner with Trump, Kennedy, Eli Lilly chief executive David Ricks and Stephen Ubl, the head of PhRMA, the industry lobbying group, the people said.

Maybe their intent was to make it ‘look’ like Trump is involved.
Bourla is a degreed Veterinarian, not a doctor. He is also guilty of murder.
Trump will meet with anyone because that is the best way to take their measure and gain information.
The subtle lie... The headline and article opening are designed to make it appear President Trump was meeting with Pfizer, although the meeting seems to be Pfizer internal.

Trump has a certain amount of ‘exposure’ in the Covid-vax roll-out. Project Warpspeed.
If I had to guess, I’d say that Trump wants the narrative to be positive toward his version of 2020’s events, and Pfizer want to limit the blame that is going to land on them.

Trump met with Romney and it was a big nothing. I suspect he’s meeting with these people to say that he did so. That will keep them guessing for a while and delay their resistance.
He might be able to get some information out of them to use later.
Trump is always open for negotiations. This time around though it will be for his wants, not their wants. People need to take a hypothetical chill pill.
Until he actually does something that "We The People" disagree with his decision, just watch, then react when you disagree. Speaking to people is not something to react to.
