Yes.

But you must have goals in common, just differences in how you will get there.

Example, we want peace between Israel and the rest of the Arab world. That can be a common goal with differences in how to get there.

But when one side is chanting "From the river to the sea all the world will be Judenfrei" there is no common goal possible.

When you have the common goal that abortion is a bad thing and one side thinks it should never be and the other thinks that it should be reserved only for extreme cases you can get along. You can work toward something like an artificial womb or reimplantation medical technology where no child will ever be killed.

When you have one side declaring that they want to get pregnant so they can have an abortion just because it will grieve the other side, there is no common goal.
