PRINGFIELD, OH — In an unfortunate development discovered last night, all of the animals from the live nativity scene in Springfield, Ohio have suddenly gone missing.
Goats, sheep, two donkeys and a camel are among the missing, last seen on the lawn in front of First Baptist Church of Springfield.
"How do a dozen animals all walk off from their pens at the same time?" said local man Thomas Masterson. "It just seems so unlikely. I hate to suspect foul play, but there was a little guard dog out there and he's gone too. This can't be good."
The church had advertised the live nativity in the local paper, letting the town know that this year's event would have more live animals than ever. "In retrospect, that may have been a mistake to advertise the location of a bunch of live animals," said local woman Stephanie Denison. "It was like they were printing a menu. Still... a camel? What do you even do with a camel?"

“I’d walk a mile for a Camel.”
Advertising slogan that didn’t age well.
The 1804 Haiti massacre, also referred to as the Haitian genocide, was carried out by African Haitian soldiers, mostly former slaves, under orders from Jean-Jacques Dessalines against much of the remaining European population in Haiti, which mainly included French people. The Haitian Revolution defeated the French army in November 1803 and the Haitian Declaration of Independence happened on 1 January 1804. From February 1804 until 22 April 1804, between 3,000 and 7,000 Europeans were savagely murdered.
There are very few Europeans in Haiti today.

I saw this article first on Instapundit, but I didn’t see the source. I took it seriously at the time. I was angry about it.

I ate camel in Mongolia. It tasted like every other animal that I ate in Mongolia.
One learned man I knew who lived for a long time in Lebanon, would sometimes make fun of Islamic dietary laws, stating with faux seriousness,”Camel is permitted . . . but NOT recommended.”
