Climate ‘scientists’ discover they’ve been underestimating a major factor, and all their climate models are in fact wrong

Climate scientists recently discovered that they’ve been underestimating the impact of a particular organic compound in the atmosphere, and the oversight’s significance is so profound that it’s left existing climate models completely obsolete. As Jo Nova writes, “This is so big, it may change the sacred ‘climate sensitivity’ of the whole Earth”.

Isoprene is what’s known as a volatile organic compound, or a VOC, and “has a recognized role in protecting plants against many abiotic stresses” like “heat stress…drought…[and] oxidative stress” with trees being the greatest emitters. (When the chemical isoprene interacts with other compounds in the atmosphere, the products are a number of secondary organic aerosols.)

Here’s some additional context, from Jo Nova:

To put some perspective on this, isoprene is the most abundant non-methane hydrocarbon emitted into the atmosphere.

And, from a study published in the Annals of Botany and sourced from the NIH:

In the tropics, plant leaves can grow very large, and this creates a large boundary layer insulating the leaf from air temperature, allowing the leaf temperature to exceed air temperature by 10 °C and more. Also, in humid air, heat loss by latent heat of evaporation is reduced. The humid tropics are known to have many isoprene-emitting species….

Now, back to the original point, and Nova’s item:

But climate models have … been estimating aerosols in the atmosphere for hundreds of years, and they [scientists] didn’t realize trees made so much aerosol than they thought.

Nova also includes this blurb, from CERN researcher and study spokesman Jasper Kirkby:

‘This new source of biogenic particles in the upper troposphere may impact estimates of Earth's climate sensitivity, since it implies that more aerosol particles were produced in the pristine pre-industrial atmosphere than previously thought,’ adds Kirkby.

So there’s a substance that’s shockingly abundant and has a far greater effect on the climate and weather patterns than previously thought, and it hasn’t been considered in the current “global climate models” — but it’s hard to “quantify” how consequential this error is?

According to CERN, climate models and predictions just need to be “refined” in light of the new information.

There are more unkowns about isoprene than knowns, and until the distance between the two shrinks, isoprene may, or it may not, radically change results of climate models. Yes, all climate models should be revised and isoprene accounted for. And as much as I am not a climate alarmist in the least, it is, at this point, mere innuendo, to assume isoprene changes things greatly.

This could be quite far reaching as Isoprene (CAS: 78-79-5) is regulated by Title V as a VOC (total) and as a TRI Chemical.

Ultimately it places it up there with CO2, a regulated & controlled \beneficial to life\ emission.

I don't care what anyone theorizes as to the why. I can tell you that whatever the causes are -- our Modern Warm Period is nothing new or bad. We've been here before, and unless Jesus comes again soon, we'll be here again.

Note: If I had to bet, it'd be the Milankovitch cycles that's causing the warming and cooling cycles at 3 different frequencies.

CO2 science:
CO2 is plant food and is physically incapable of generating global warming. More CO2 equals more food and more oxygen. It is very important to note the only source of oxygen that we require to live is generated solely from plants via photosynthesis. The formula is precise; 6 molecules of H2O plus 6 molecules of CO2 create, via photosynthesis, sugar (food) and 6 molecules of oxygen. Below 300ppm of CO2 plants begin to reduce the creation of oxygen. Below 200ppm of CO2 the production of oxygen and food significantly degraded causing famine and death of the weakest. Below 100ppm CO2 plants die resulting in no oxygen causing the death of all animal life on this planet.
Current plant life is happiest with CO2 concentrations above 1200ppm. Plants then produce massive amounts of food, actually require less water (the deserts bloom), while devouring CO2 and happily generating plenty of oxygen.

What is the net effect these particular aerosols have on the Earth's temperature? Do they trap heat, or reflect it, or what?

The article and other online sources do not suggest whether the chemical (isoprene) and its reaction products make the atmosphere cooler or warmer. The lack of any touting of a warming effect suggests that a cooling effect is known or at least suspected. If that is so, then synthetic isoprene — which is easily and cheaply produced in the chemical industry — could be injected into the atmosphere to combat global warming.
