Joe Rogan. Elon Musk. Representatives of bro culture are on the ascent, bringing with them an army of disaffected young men. But where did they come from? Many argue that a generation of men are resentful because they have fallen behind women in work and school. I believe this shift would not have been so destabilizing were it not for the fact that our society still has one glass-slippered foot in the world of Cinderella.
Hundreds of years after the Brothers Grimm published their version of that classic rags-to-riches story, our cultural narratives still reflect the idea that a woman’s status can be elevated by marrying a more successful man — and a man’s diminished by pairing with a more successful woman. Now that women are pulling ahead, the fairy tale has become increasingly unattainable. This development is causing both men and women to backslide to old gender stereotypes and creating a hostile division between them that provides fuel for the exploding manosphere. With so much turmoil in our collective love lives, it’s little wonder Americans are experiencing surging loneliness, declining birthrates and — as evidenced by Donald Trump’s popularity with young men — a cascade of resentment that threatens to reshape our democracy.
When we think of Prince Charming, most of us probably picture a Disney figure with golden epaulets and great hair. In the Brothers Grimm version of “Cinderella,” he is called simply “the prince,” and neither his looks nor his personality receive even a passing mention. In fact, we learn nothing about him except for the only thing that matters: He has the resources to give Cinderella a far better life than the one she is currently living. Throughout much of Western literature, this...

No mention of Kamala and Hillary who launched their careers by hooking up with a man and the countless women who choose a life partner based on his earnings.
“Bro culture”, is it? It’s more than a little amusing to hear feminists who have wasted tons of paper evangelizing over feminine society to be forced to acknowledge, and naturally, disparage, such a thing as masculine society. We’ve kept our mouths shut so long it’s a wonder to many that they even work, much less have something to say. And so, Sarah, I have some bad news for you and your urban, college-educated, doctrinaire feminist sisters - normal men and normal women don’t need you.

Poor Sarah.
Men and women are stronger together than each individually if the match is right. Women bring things to the table that help men be better, and men bring things to the table that make women better.
Douchebags like this on the Left have been trying to eradicate that commonse understanding for over half a century.
And they won’t date “trans-women.” The last straw.
“Men and women are stronger together than each individually if the match is right. Women bring things to the table that help men be better, and men bring things to the table that make women better.”
So true. I am in awe of what men can do, and my husband says the same about women. God truly made us unique and special as two different sexes that compliment each other.
However, I always tell my husband I wouldn’t want to be a man and he says the same about women lol.
Let's examine why they have fallen behind. Let's look at what is done to little boys beginning in kindergarten wherein normal boy energy and boy behavior is pathologized and boys are treated as substandard girls that must be "fixed."
"Toxic masculinity" is the label given to normal and positive boy/man behavior. Combine that with the "You go, Girl" mantra in which whatever obnoxiousness or aggressiveness or loutishness a woman wants to exhibit is celebrated.
Boys have had what is both normal and required of men shamed out of them and I think a lot of them have kind of checked out and become man-children -- preferring Pornhub to relationships with women ... gaming online instead of fighting for success and conquest in the real world in an actual career.
I'm hoping for a turnaround and soon.
“Why they think men want women that act like men is beyond me.” - because women are driven by fear, feelings and group think, and the group think propaganda of the last 50 years kept telling them that. Of course, the fact that most are somewhat stupid didn’t help matters.
It appears that a very large proportion of “...single women 25 and up...” are seriously damaged goods. That doesn’t help either.
“No mention of Kamala and Hillary who launched their careers by hooking up with a man and the countless women who choose a life partner based on his earnings.”
The “Girl Power” womyn always gloss over those kind of details....
I doubt that Mizz Bernstein has ever interacted with an actual man.
Here's the rub. The claim is women are now earning more than men. Successful women refuse to marry men who are less successful than they are. If more women keep earning more than men the pool of successful men will continue to shrink. Successful women will have fewer options. It's a "win"-lose prospect.
Real men want nothing to do with liberal women.
I find singlehood (sp?) a very peaceful existence.
The first three paragraphs are lacking substance and an incentive to read further. The real reason for a falling birth rate is the decline of a God fearing (and loving) society. The embrace of contraception, divorce, abortion, and pornography led to the chaos and dysfunction we witness; they cannot even affirm gender. They are so lost.
It’s tougher to be married to a now liberal woman who had been slightly conservative at one time.
No, it’s the decline of virginity and traditional marriage
I’ll bet that Sarah has never had a real orgasm in her entire miserable life that wasn’t brought on by something that plugged into the wall.
