Cobb County Sheriff Craig Owens called his deputies to the Burger King on Veterans Memorial Highway in Mableton on March 4, 2023
A Georgia sheriff grew so angry when Burger King messed up his order that he called deputies to the store.
Cobb County Sheriff Craig Owens, who is up for re-election this year, called his deputies to the Burger King on Veterans Memorial Highway in Mableton on March 4, 2023, to help address his botched order, according to body camera footage obtained by WSB-TV. Owens' opponent in the upcoming election is slamming the sheriff's actions as an abuse of his position.
Three deputies were dispatched to the fast food restaurant with sirens blaring.
The deputies approached Owens in his truck, who was parked in the restaurant's parking lot. Owens was not in his uniform or in his sheriff's office vehicle.
"Hey, do me a favor. I need to get, all I need is the owner name of whoever owns this damn facility or the manager," Owens tells one deputy.
"I wanted her [to get his female passenger] a Whopper, no mayo, cut in half, right?" he continued.
The sheriff added: "I don’t need no damn money back no more. I just need to find out who owns this place so I can do an official complaint."
The deputies, without questioning why the sheriff could not ask for the information himself, then approached the restaurant's doors, but the employees had locked themselves inside.
The employees were eventually convinced to open the doors to let the deputies inside.
"Nobody is in trouble, we just want to get some names," one deputy told the assistant manager.
"There isn't even going to be a report written," the deputy said. "That guy out there, he's just going to file a complaint for his food."

I never do drive through.
One reason is the one you stated. I want to be able to check my food before I drive off.
The other is I just will not eat in my car unless I have no choice.
My wife on occasion picks up breakfast from McD’s on the way home from work and 50% of the time they get the order wrong.
If she wasn’t his wife or child (he’s married with 3 children), then he’s probably in bigger trouble than we know.
“....one guess of the employees ethnicity.”
The way Cobb County is going it’s possible the staff is Hispanic.
It says right here, ‘Hold the pickle, hold the lettuce, special orders don’t upset us”.
LOL - Too much mustard, you under arrest for burger slopification.
“If I am re-elected, Whoppers will be free, and done right!”
I always avoid the drive thru because of French Fries. Now, I avoid fast food altogether becasue they serve old food, dried up sandwiches, old fries....
A classic example of why and when cops take action:
1. The victim is a cop or family member.
2. There is a chance of a hefty fine or seizure.
3. There is an opportunity to kick some ass.
4. There is some publicity to be had.
5. There are donuts at stake................
that bites...
LOCAL offices that issue businesses licenses could have provided him with the info.
I like to stay right there at the window and check it.
“Would you pull forward please?”
“No.”
Another one I like sometimes is this,
“Would you park right over there and we’ll bring it out to you?”
“No, I’ll wait here. Ya know I have had so much trouble here because you can’t get the order right.”
Here’s another:
“Would you like cheese on that?”
“Why are you asking me that? No matter what I say you are going to put cheese on it anyway. You always do. I do not know what words to say to get you to not put cheese on it.”
Because of my saying all this, now it will in fact come without cheese (usually).
I think part of our difficulty was that our store is a company owned store not a franchise owned store. It was used to train managers most of whom were washed out for incompetence. If there was a good one he was always sent away pretty quickly. The incompetent ones stuck around like a hair on a biscuit.
I wish the Sheriff well. At last someone trying to do something :-)
I was about to ask “do I even need to look”, and someone had already commented “you don’t need to look”
I wasn’t sure, the name threw me off.
I also have given up on the big fast food places and have mostly been going to small family owned restaurants.
Some the smaller chains like 5 Guys are good but a lot more expensive
But as always you are going to pay for quality.
