“I’m standing behind a Black woman to be president of the United States, and it doesn’t make me any less of a Black man,” said the Illinois attorney general. “I’m asking all of you all to do the same.”
A day after Vice President Kamala Harris announced that she intended to seek the Democratic presidential nomination, more than 40,000 Black men from across the country convened on a virtual fund-raising call to discuss what the moment required of them.
For four hours, one Black man after another — prominent politicians, activists, entertainers — laid out the challenges ahead for Ms. Harris, including the racist and sexist attacks they expected from her opponents. In pledging their support, many offered emotional testimonies about the personal relationships they have built with her.
But it was not long before the men confronted the elephant in the room.
“Sometimes as Black men we get confused as to what strength is, and sometimes we think that standing behind a Black woman as a leader does not display strength as Black men,” said Kwame Raoul, the attorney general of Illinois. “I’m here to tell you all tonight that it does the opposite of that, it displays strength.”
Mr. Raoul then drove home his point. “I’m standing behind a Black woman to be president of the United States, and it doesn’t make me any less of a Black man,” he said. “I’m asking all of you all to do the same.”
The call, one in a series the Harris campaign has held in recent weeks with Black women, white women and white “dudes,” was a rallying cry to a part of a crucial Democratic constituency seen as skeptical of Ms. Harris.

And that raises the question of when exactly did the deep state make the decision Joe had to go? And when was Kamala told she had been selected to replace former president Biden?
Regardless of how anyone feels about former president Biden, the switcheroo stinks.
All of them are democrat leeches feeding at the public trough.
I think the average black male voter knows what time it is on this count, and I fully expect to see a major gender split on Harris in their vote. They know an imperious queen and a phony when they see one.
I am so tired of this race crap. It's only interesting in her case in how she marketed the Asian angle when she felt it worked for her, then she marketed the black angle when she felt it worked for her. I don't believe she feels she is Asian or black. She looks like neither, frankly.
Her race is politician and as such should be treated with the utmost of skepticism.
Trump will improve the job situation for them. Kamala will not, and blame Republicans.

There is a series on AMC+, “Snowpiercer”, about a post-apocalyptic future where the earth is in the grips of another Ice Age, and the remnants of the human race are aboard some supertrain with tracks that circle the entire world. Never mind the dubious science involved, or the enormity of the task of constructing the necessary infrastructure to assure the supertrain would be able to function for years if necessary, the division of the assigned positions on board the train are organized along the lines of the train crew, and the various ranks of the passengers. Nonconformists are treated with utmost severity, and there is no appeal to any higher authority.
It is supposed to be a microcosm of what the United States could become under tyrannical rule. Or what the Third Reich may have been had they been successful and delayed the Second World War even a few years.
