One has to ask why would police bother? They would go in to the situation and potentially kill a “poor unarmed black man” and all hell would break loose and the cops would be prosecuted.

OR, they would arrest the “poor unarmed black man” and all hell would break loose and the perp would be released with all charges dropped.

One of my guilty pleasures is watching (listening to while I work) police cam videos. Perps will assault cops and judges almost always drop felonious assault on a police officer charges. Then we hear about Alvin Bragg dropping all charges against terrorists rioting on colleges. Why be a cop?

allegedly beaten to death

We need "fist control" for people with Domestic Violence Restraining Orders. (according to leftist "logic")

I think these judges that let violent people out (without any bond, too) are doing a great disservice to our communities. Gotta get rid of them. These hoodlums belong behind bars.

https://abc6onyourside.com/news/local/brooke-devinney-devon-blair-loved-ones-celebrate-life-pregnant-teen-19-beaten-death-beating-murder-crime-arrest-domestic-violence
Devinney’s mother said she wished she could hold her only daughter in her arms.

“Domestic violence — this is not something any parent should have to go through ever., her mom said.

She has a message to the Franklin County legal system.

“The system (has) to stop letting these repeat offenders out because the system can’t fight for these women,” her mother said. “What do they have? Who’s gonna be there for them? They should know that we should not have to go through this. We should not be here.”

My first thought is family should be there for them. But good family is rare these days. Family interaction doesn’t want to talk about the situation because it is unsolvable.

Yes, the system is part of the problem but doesn’t solve things either. He would have gotten out someday or a friend would have posted bond.

Don’t have an answer..............................

So arrogant and entitled in the courtroom. Charge him with the murder of the unborn child also. Some dummies don’t seem to realize that they’re at a new level when dead bodies are involved and they’re not just getting out. Like the two in Las Vegas who ran down a retired cop and one of them seemed to think it was a nothing, ho-hum situation.

Isn’t this similar to how St. Floyd of Fentanyl got started?

"Blair was eventually arrested relating to that incident, but a judge released him on a $10,000 recognizance bond — which meant he didn’t have to pay — along with an electronic ankle monitor despite his guilty pleas to the assault of a police officer and felony domestic violence."

Ask the frickin' Judge who let him go, why this guy was back out on the street to kill her. The cops did their job. The court let him off, and has blood on his hands. The family needs to take it up with the Judge, and hold him accountable.

A pregnant woman who was allegedly beaten to death by her abusive ex-boyfriend is being mourned by friends and family, and questions are being raised as to how the crime was allowed to happen in the first place.

Defund the police! Bring in Social Workers!

Oh, and how could police allow this to happen!

“...but a judge released him on a $10,000 recognizance bond”

I don’t care about the race of the murderer or his victim. I do care that a judge saw fit to release the murderer. I was under the impression that domestic abuse cases involving using a weapon did not merit a recognizance bond especially if any sort of restraining order was involved. The logic being the accused has shown he or she is a danger to the life of at least one person.

The judge should be named and shamed.

I have a close friend who was stalked by a wacko ex girlfriend for over a year. Vandalized his car several times, and even broke into his house. Retraining orders against her were useless, and in the end, it didn’t end well for either of them.

Fathers, teach your daughters to shoot and buy them a gun if they can’t afford one because an order of protection is just a piece of paper.

Is it?

Judge Michael Holbrook - Republican

Who is apparently ok with putting criminals who assault three people, two of them police officers out with no bail.

I would say this person should not be on the bench to let more violent people out but you make up your own minds.

“Before today’s incident, he had two warrants out for his arrest for domestic violence that did involve Miss Devinney,” Columbus Police Sgt. Joe Albert told ABC 6. “He has proven to be a very dangerous individual who we unfortunately weren’t able to get off the street before he took somebody’s life.”

AND THEN

“When Devinney was beaten to death, Blair was wearing the ankle monitor, which calls into question why police could not find him in the time between Devinney’s plea for help on Thursday and her murder on Sunday.”

Owners of a dog that has already bitten are charged with manslaughter if that dog goes out and kills. Happened in SF a few years back.

Cops who know of threats of murder with ability to immediately locate suspect, who has multiple arrest warrants for threatening the same victim, are allowed to do nothing bc perp is a favored race by the lefties [black guy] and none will be fired, disciplined, or even lose a minute’s pay. You can’t even sue the cops, they’re “immune” from liability when they fail to do their duty.

This is yet another reason to NEVER RELY ON THE COPS. They will not help you. Sure, maybe if the perp is white they might arrest the guy after the crime, but it is 100% up to you to keep yourself & family safe. Better judged by 12 than carried by 6.
