Today, we learn that Ukraine hit three oil depot/refineries in Russia overnight. Ukrainian attack drones successfully struck a Russian Lukoil oil depot in Krasnodar Krai this morning, setting the facility ablaze.
We also learn that South Korea has begun considering sending arms and military aid to Ukraine in an unprecedented move. As a result of North Korea's new defensive pact, the South Koreans are becoming concerned of the possibility of war breaking out on the Korean Peninsula.
We have also heard that Russia is considering changing its nuclear doctrine from defensive to a "first-strike" doctrine. Putin continues to escalate the war in Ukraine as tensions continue to rise around the world.

No one can really provide a viable national security argument for why this was needed.
No one can really explain to an average American how this war has made them safer, more wealthy or free.
Any conversation about the wars cause with a supporter of this war, always degenerates into a conversation about some imaginary boogieman, Cold War cliche’s, a threat that isn’t even realistic (the argument that Russia will keep going once they take Ukraine), the use of slogans, personal attacks, and fake moral causes like “sovereignty, democracy, and human rights” which we use conveniently while overlooking those folks allied with us (Saudi Arabia, Jordan) or whom we do massive trade with (PRC) that don’t meet those standards either.

I agree with all that you said, however, I believe they have lost more men & women on the battle field than has Russia. Whether we find out exact numbers is probably no going to be revealed. So, that is just my personal option based upon reports I have heard.

They did invade Ukraine. I'm sure Putin was convinced their reasons were good, but they fired the first shots.
