Trapped in a psych ward: Michigan doc pre-signed blank forms that can rob you of your freedom
WXYZ ^ | February 28, 2024 | Heather Catallo

During the pandemic, 7 Investigator Heather Catallo started investigating these allegations. She spent hundreds of hours during the last two years talking with patients, former employees, and mental health experts, and reviewing hundreds of documents.

“I’ll never forget it. I’ll never get over it.” That’s how Bri Jackson describes her stay inside a local psychiatric hospital – a stay Bri says never should have happened.

“If you would have told me that something like that would happen, I would find it so hard to believe in the United States of America,” said another patient, who asked for anonymity, about their stay in the same psych ward.

These patients and others are alleging they were locked up and held against their will in Pontiac General Hospital’s psychiatric unit, or coerced into staying for treatment for illnesses they say they do not have.

If you’ve encountered a situation like this at a local hospital please email us at hcatallo@wxyz.com

Very few people have been willing to talk publicly about what’s going on behind the closed doors of a locked psychiatric ward.  But now patients, parents, and employees are coming forward to talk to us about what they say are their experiences with the psychiatric treatment at some local hospitals and with psychiatrist Dr. Nagy Kheir.

After the 7 Investigators started asking questions in the probate courts about Dr. Kheir last spring, he suddenly resigned from one of the hospitals where he was in charge. But he’s still working for at least two other hospitals where patients say he has all the power over them.

VIDEO: HEAR FROM DR. KHEIR

A few months old but worth the read, plus a video on the link. We wonder why Nervous Hospitals are not liked or respected.

Basically a foreign shrink running a Medicaid and insurance scam

If hundreds of people can be locked up in J6 jails without due process, then it’s no surprise people are unduly committed to psych wards.

First, my wife is a psychiatrist at a major hospital, often covered the ER, and was responsible for many involuntary commitments. It is often necessary to protect patients and family members from harm. Failure to do this would have been malpractice.

The problem is most often in rural hospitals where they do not have professionals to handles the patients so they ship the patient several hours away to a city hospital where they are quickly transferred to a psychiatric inpatient facility. These places often cut off all contact with families.

I’ve personally spoken with patients who were repeatedly raped while drugged up and in these facilities. They are not safe places to be.

I’ve also known patients who were active duty military with severe PTSD that were shot multiple times by police as they didn’t understand basic mental health procedures for diffusing a patients anger or rage.

Thank GWB and the Patriot Act. By calling them “domestic terrorists” they can be held indefinitely without trial. Should have known by its name that bill was a lie.

Your psychistrist wife was undoubtedly on the receiving end of “collateral information” from self-interested wives advised by attorneys on how through deception and mendacity to gain an irreversible advantage over their husbands in family court in terms of
achieving temporary full child custody and utterly destroying their husbands’ relationships with his own children.

How did she feel about being part of a family-destroying machine?

anyone else notice the big push for “mental health therapy” on youtube and if you happen to have a telemed app? And also “psychadelic therapy,” which is beyond creepy (hello MK-Ultra)?

things often seem to be escalated to the point where they can “justify” the use of force.

When you dont know how to de-escalate things this happens pretty much 100% of the time. They will go there in a heartbeat. Its their job. They dont have to protect or serve any more.

Yep, medicaid scam. What’s really pathetic is that there are plenty of homeless crazies that might actually benefit from forced commitment and getting stabilized but those type of patients are actual work and require real attention to their medical and psychatric needs.

So they prefer to scam working and middle class folk with no real crises who can be buffaloed for a week or to and have their insurance bilked.

Your chances of getting locked up in the nuthouse is mostly dependant on your insurance coverage.

True. And tens of thousands of nut jobs who have no insurance are free to roam the highways and byways of America causing harm and damage wherever they go.
