A Kentucky high school allegedly withheld a graduate’s diploma when the student went off script during his graduation speech to preach his belief in Jesus.
Micah Price received the green light to praise Jesus Christ in his commencement speech at Campbell County High School in Alexandria, Ky., on May 24, but followed his address with “urging other Christians to stand up.”
“Class, before another word leaves my mouth, I must give the honor, the praise and the glory to my lord and savior Jesus Christ,” Price said to a packed Truist Arena at Northern Kentucky University.
His oration received resounding applause from the audience before he continued with his holy message.
“Who in his very words tells us he is the light, he is the way, the truth and life. Class, anyone in the audience today, I’m here to tell you that if you don’t have any of those things in your life and can’t seem to find the answer, then my lord and savior is your answer.”

No “injury” for the lawsuit.
I clicked through and read the rest. He said he holds no ill will, that they were just doing their jobs. School system policy says going off-script for *anything* is a no-no. Even a message on your graduation cap could get you in trouble.
I’m not endorsing or defending the policy, just stating it as the reason for his response.
AND - He got his diploma in the mail a few days later.
He’s going into the Air Force Academy this fall. Good young man. We need more!
Separation of church & state? We don’t want Christians in this country.

Could have literally said any other name ever invented and nobody would have said anything. There is power in the name of Jesus.
so they won’t give him the actual paper or are they denying his credits?
did the authorities in question approve his speech in advance, and he went off the reservation? He may have screwed up.

This is truly demonic and disgusting. It’s certain proof that Satan reigns in what has now become an anti-Christ world. As Christ’s true believers, we have become the remnant flock, holding steadfast to Christ’s everlasting love as our souls seek shelter from the storm clouds in His outstretched arms.
Technically, that term defenstrate means to throw someone out the window - what usually happens when someone disagrees with Putin. Gelded may be a more appropriate term for what you were going for in your comment. If you meant to throw the conservatives out the window, then I don’t really get it in this context?
When I graduated HS, we were handed a rolled up paper but the real diploma came in the mail.
This is undoubtedly because of the School Superintendent. He/she/it should be ‘defenestrated’ from a 10 story window, IMO.
So many government employees need an education on what our rights are. I see far too many videos of teachers, police, school boards, etc. that seem to believe they’re our overlords and they’ll decide when they’ll honor our RIGHTS.
In this instance, this graduation speech is the voice of the student - not an official position of the school...but the school believes it has the right to police the speech. They don’t. They are government, we the people are free to speak at public events & meetings. He could say negative things about the teachers and principle if desired. Same with school boards, they think they can cut off people saying something they don’t like.
It also means disempowerment.
Suburban Cincinnati. Fairly conservative area. Pressure will be applied where it matters-the elected members of the school board who want to keep their positions.
This good kid will receive his diploma.

Communists are extremely tolerant of everyone they agree with.

But I agree with what I said.
They can list him as not graduating. It is more than a piece of paper. They are interfering with his ability to attend college.
