So many government employees need an education on what our rights are. I see far too many videos of teachers, police, school boards, etc. that seem to believe they’re our overlords and they’ll decide when they’ll honor our RIGHTS.

In this instance, this graduation speech is the voice of the student - not an official position of the school...but the school believes it has the right to police the speech. They don’t. They are government, we the people are free to speak at public events & meetings. He could say negative things about the teachers and principle if desired. Same with school boards, they think they can cut off people saying something they don’t like.

Well, they might have right over certain types of speech, but religious belief does not rise to be one of them if that speech is limited to the speaker paying homage to the Lord, and not trying to convert others. Those who do not believe can just ignore.

But I agree with what I said.
