Dove, 2017
Jaws dropped when Dove debuted a three-second Facebook advertisement in which an African-American woman removed her shirt and magically transformed into a white woman. Critics decried that it was reminiscent of racist soap ads from the last century that showed black people scrubbing their skin to become white. Dove removed the clip almost immediately and apologized, saying the post had “missed the mark in representing women of color thoughtfully.”

the most ribald detergent cleanser ads were when once-tv-detergent-ad-girl Marilyn Chambers began her AHEM! ‘blue movie career’ with same said box of detergent somewhere on each scene set!
Super hot half naked women? Calgon take me away..... Those? I was I think the lasted past 1979... I was 8 in 79 and remember those commercials...lol
We’re seeing a Medicare-related commercial now that we hate with a creepy lady with SHORT white hair. I think she’s AI.
A couple days ago I called the number on the screen and asked the lady who answered, “That woman in your commercial with the short white hair ... is that a real lady or one of those robot people?”
The lady started laughing hysterically and she had to gasp for air. “I know! Isn’t she awful? I don’t know if she’s real.” Then we both started building on that re nightmares, exorcists, etc. I had expected the agent to be a mouth breather and/or an unintelligible Indian, but she wasn’t.
Anyhow, I hate that commercial for the sheer creepiness of it.
remember the “how can you tell if a brown towel is clean?” commercial. in this case the only way to tell is by getting up close and personal which could lead to very unintended consequences. “be safe, steer clear, they don’t wash clothes with cheer” wouldn’t offend anyone...but it WOULD make a great counter-chant against the radical elements of society. Outthink the Outstink! your nose will thank you.
Both radio and TV

Do you mean the one with the big glasses who’s NOT going to call? She’s a little over the top.
Visiting Angels
Focus Factor
The life insurance commercials with the emasculated husbands being hectored and harangued by their wives.
We have life insurance, right? JOHN!
I hate all the pharmaceutical ads on tv these days. “Ask your doctor...” and then they list the possible horrendous side effects which sometimes includes death. And then there is the stupid jingles. Bla, bla bla it’s easy to see, I’m lowering my a1c.
“The real trick is trying to find a commercial in which the actors are not POC.”
One example of what advertisers did was to use light skinned black women and men in commercials.
“Do you mean the one with the big glasses who’s NOT going to call?”
I think this one has no glasses. (Robots don’t need glasses, y’know.”) I think the one you’re talking about is “Martha”.
This one isn’t official Medicare — some supplement thing. I just went to my call history to find that number so I could Google it. It’s not there! Do “they” have the ability to disappear numbers from call history?
I once read somewhere that Hispanic women, light skinned black women, and multi-racial Asian/white women are used heavily in the TV business because for some reason female TV viewers of all races and socioeconomic backgrounds seem to personally identify with them as people who “could be me.”
Not just that, I read an article somewhere.
Said commercials are also just more numerous. Ratio of content to commercial time keeps shrinking. Plus today’s free TV has fewer “good” shows and movies. More quality material is kept for “pay to play”.
In short modern TV SUX.
PS
Just last night my once evil sister -in law (think Cruela Devella from 101 Dalmatians) said they are dropping direct TV after something like 20 years. Their monthly bill now up to something like a QUARTER of a grand every month.
“I think this one has no glasses. (Robots don’t need glasses, y’know.”) “
I haven’t seen that commercial but I’ll keep an eye out for it.
Gillette broadcast what may be one of the sickest ads ever run on television - a Leftist propaganda piece attacking "toxic masculinity" and pushing the "pound-me-too" (#metoo) lies.

One good thing is that they are putting the lie to the FAR-LEFT’s discrimination of African slaves. According to the ads, the descendants of Africans slaves are all now married to white wimmin, have all the top jobs in government services and drive all new top of the line car. Oh yeah. They all have “doctor’s degrees” too. Either that, or they all are stick and ball millionaires.
Well now they’ve ruined the Heinz commercial. In 1st version, when they bring the heinz to the white woman, a black man raises his hand in the restaurant and says he’s a Heinz too. That was the funny part! I’ve seen it twice this morning and now they have cut the black man off the end...geez Can’t have humor anymore, can we?
The funniest part of that commercial is John saying he is looking for something they can afford, and the inside of the house tells me it's a $600k plus house, so John can afford it.
Maybe they were house poor.
Then take a $500 HELOC to pay the $24 monthly premiums, or give up Netflix.
